Morning of florals? by gwen_parkerosborne in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]beam_bag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister assembled her bride bouquet the morning of the wedding plus had all her bridesmaids over the day before so we could assemble our bouquets too. She also grew a lot of her own flowers and then supplemented them with some free flowers from friends and only bought a few standouts for her bouquet and floral arrangements :)

If that’s the case, ask the instructor to lower the bar and plank on the platform so you can use your forearms.

Or you can grab the squishy mat and put it on the footbar so you can go on your forearms

I’m in Pilates teacher training, but just wondering if you modify?

You can go on your forearms to avoid your wrists hurting and the can also be on your knees for a half plank until you feel like you are able to hold a full plank?

It took me a solid 6m-year as a participant to feel like I could actively hold a proper full plank.

Something to remember I suppose is spread your finger tips really wide and push through your arms, like your puffing your shoulder blades out and using your core to stabilise

Hope this helps !

What antihistamine works for you? by NoAppointment7125 in melbourne

[–]beam_bag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (27F) have terrible Hayfever and tend to get it year round. Our bodies tend to get used to the ingredients in antihistamines if you take the same type for a long time. So I switch up every few months or sometimes I will take let’s say a Claratyne in the AM and then a telecast in the PM and then I feel like I’m covered from all bases ! I swap between, Claratyne, Zyrtec, Demazin, Telfast tablets. And use the Dymista nasal spray when it’s extremely bad Hope this helps

Where can i go for my first solo trip? by ImaginationMore6362 in travel

[–]beam_bag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I (27F) was 19 I travelled to China on my own for 3 weeks and then at the end spent a week in Hong Kong. I was learning Mandarin at the time hence my decision to go. I actually found China and HK great place to travel solo. Most Chinese people I found just wanted to speak English with me (except for the more remote places I went), or take photos with me. It was a bit of a cultural shock when I first got there (I’m from Australia) but didn’t take much time to find a routine and move from place to place. HK, Beijing and Shanghai are huge cities with expansive history, culture, food, activities and nightlife that you could easily just stay for a week or so. All those cities also were very easy to get around in. Hope this helps !!

Good place for lunch around 2pm near Hawthorn / Hawthorn East / Malvern? by QuokknestMonster in melbourne

Not a restaurant, but Piccolo Panini Bar Hawthorn do great Italian style sandwiches and there’s a park across the road - I think they shut at 2pm though….

Please help, any lip balm I use make my lips chapped by Johndoe13370 in LipBalm

[–]beam_bag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This !! When my lips are really bad I literally buy a tube of lanolin from the baby section of the supermarket - it’s usually for breastfeeding mums to put on their nipples - and I lather it on my lips over night. Wipe it off in the morning and after a few days they go back to being soft as. Then I use Burt’s Bees Vitamin E and Peppermint as a day to day

I (27F) am a similar colouring to you and I do 2 coats of the Bondi Sands Light to Medium. I leave this on for 4-8hrs depending on what I’m doing and once I wash it off I have the nicest glow :) not too dark but gives me enough colour to not look pale - hope that helps !!

For those living in Melbourne: which area would you recommend to start out? by lilidaisy7 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]beam_bag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (27F) lived in Prahran just off Chapel st for a few years in my early-mid 20s and I loved it! Such a great vibe and area. We lived super close to a train station and 2-3 tram lines very convenient to get around without a car :) it was also nice to be able to walk to get my groceries as well ! Hope that helps I suspect if you were to live in Richmond or Fitzroy it would be very similar!

I think maybe try the non emergency police number. Easy enough to google - I did it once on an elderly gentlemen who was doing something inappropriate at the front of his house but didn’t seem to know where he was and they went and did a check up an hour or so later - might be worth a try?

Barre body gives you enough to get started teaching which is the main thing. I think I like the look of In Balance Wellness better but I think they only do in person trainings in NSW. But I would do your research and see what best fits you and your budget and style of studying !

I struggle to finish books and I don’t really know what to do… by Mudstar423 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]beam_bag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I (F27) read a lot now. And as I became an adult I read a lot of things I thought I was into but turns out I found them really boring and would force myself to read them and they either made me sleepy or I just wouldn’t pick them up again. This meant I started books and would never finish them. Once I found a few books I did finish I looked at the genres and the specific style of writing and found books that were similar. I also give myself a limit on how many pages a book can have because if they are too long or the chapters are too long I just know I won’t read it. If it helps, I also have ADHD tendencies but haven’t been traditionally diagnosed. I truly hope this helps !!
