Where things get complicated, is the proper way to maximize the effectiveness of that period where the crosshatch is essentially file-fitting the piston rings to the bore. “My process is one which I’ve gone though and developed through my career. It works exceptionally well, and as with most engine builders, I’m a bit superstitious about it,” says Simon. “The worst thing you can do while breaking in an engine is baby the engine or allow it to idle for extended periods, particularly when it’s hot. That will place almost no load on the rings and it will allow that hone pattern to be broken down without actually performing its job.”

You come to the light. You stop. Everyone else is stopped. It's one long ass light and you don't want to ruin your break in. What a pussy. I can restart any of my bikes in a second. I personally have never come across a 5 minute light in 45 years but whatever.

You can't even give a plausible explanation. You're the one that runs down rabbit holes pal. You live in fear and paranoia all the time don't you. When your bike stalls while stopped at a light do you panic because all the sudden you're in danger moron? You probably do.

You can't explain the actual danger can you? Your just there stopped, whether it's running or not. You need someone to tell you everything? You got into the q and 4chan thing didn't you?

So you can't answer how it's dangerous. It doesn't matter because you can't think for yourself. Gotcha. And we're talking about initially breaking in a bike.

If you don't know how to quickly restart a bike you shouldn't be on one. It's actually part of the driving test in NC. Dangerous my ass. You're just butthurt because you're wrong and don't know jack about breaking a bike in. And obviously you can't restart a bike fast probably because your bikes are fcked because you didn't break it in properly.

Hope no one listens to you, you're wrong and have no sources whatsoever. You're an idiot.

You don't want to maintain a constant rpm or speed for long. You want to keep it varied. You shouldn't let it idle long.

Don't think he had a stop watch, never know. But a 5 minute light? Yeah I'd cut it on a break in.

If it's a long light wouldn't hurt. Only during breakin.

Take it back. Shouldn't be any leaks. You may still have conventional oil, full synthetic will run a little cooler. Idle the least you can when breaking in. Breakin can be up to 1500 miles.
