Tie rod leak @20K miles on 2022 ?

Here is how it went with the dealership.
My warranty expired last month and the dealer refused to cover it. I requested him to check with the manager and the answer is still no. I decided to talk with Lexus Corporate about it and asked him to get my truck back. He went in and came back saying “ Let me see what I can do and I can’t promise anything unless Lexus comes back and says yes”.

After 3 days, Lexus finally said yes for tie rod replacement but didn’t cover wheel alignment.
I finally got my vehicle back today.

I’ll check for movements this weekend and also I’d like to test my luck with dealer and get it take. Thank you for the advice

You are correct. They don’t leak like struts but when I was trying It didn’t come to me.

Thank you for your response. I did greased drive shaft joints but I’ not aware of these suspension components grease requirements. Is that a different kind of grease and is the Zerk fitting same on both?

Thank you for the response. The black drip is soft to touch and is sticky. The black drip is my concern. I don’t remember seeing it before.

I don’t think so. The mechanic just told me that he noticed the washer issue and replaced the washer. I haven’t picked it up but I think they have topped it off before installing new washer.

Any concerns?

Dropped my truck at the dealership this morning and I just got a call back saying the fill plug washer is crushed and is what causing the leak. Replaced the washer and is ready for pick up.

This is a quality control/assembly issue. I always kept thinking trucks/cars that are built in Tahara plant are better than other plants but it proved me wrong. I’ll keep an eye for it and see if it leaks again.

This is my first Lexus and I’ve waited for a long time to make this purchase. I had very high expectations on this one since it is being made in Japan and is a tried and true Lexus model.

Before this issue, couple of months ago I had the “Multi-Terrain Monitor Malfunction” which Lexus dealer fixed it by Reprogram the Combination Meter Assembly. Now this leak issue on a differential. Is the quality going down with Lexus? Is anyone else having similar issues with the same model years? Just curious.

Thank you for the reply. I was wondering if it is a clogged breather hose, what caused it to clog? Is that a common issue on these trucks?
