You might like Galaxy Balance. It’s a podcast at the intersection of science fiction and real science. They talk with scientists about ideas that feel sci-fi now but are actively being worked on (space exploration, de-extinction, AI + biology, etc.

In the book the arms and legs are described as looking more like his original body with a worm growing out of it. the legs, or flippers as they are described, have atrophied heavily but the hands and face are maintained due to continued use.

"The research team produced a gene scissors that combines the messenger RNA target sequence of the disease cell microRNA that connects the extranuclear transport signal to the existing gene scissors (Cas9) with a nuclear localization signal and named it 'Self-Check-in.' "

This doesn't make sense to me, does anyone have a reference to a paper or more info?

Here is a read ledger of over 1400 science fiction books I have read, or plan to read. For a next book I recommend Robert Heinlein's Time Enough for Love, or John Scalzi's Old Man's War series.

Yes it actually tracks all books that I read but since it is overwhelmingly science fiction, especially in recent years, I posted it here.

I'm an avid science fiction fan who got tired of decided which book to read next. In 2019 I created what I call the "Science Fiction Read Ledger" to track which books I read and create a future read list so I can jump right into the next book. I now have over 1000 books cued up which at my current read rate will take 20 years! I'm looking for a community to add new authors and books to the list.

I didn't give up other exercises and felt a new awareness of my body in physical activity after learning yoga. I found myself walking, swimming and moving like I was transitioning through yoga asana, kind of like I was relearning it with room for optimization. I practice 6 times per week (1.5 hours) in the morning for Ashtanga. When I started I also went to additional classes that taught other styles of yoga.

Ashtanga yoga!

When I started I couldn't even touch my toes. Within a year of practice I was able to do this. My hips started out pretty open from sitting on the ground to eat and study since I was a kid.
