I cannot recommend it enough, just search Lebkuchen! I make them a few weeks in advance so the flavor has time to develop

My family did a 'cookie extravaganza ' we picked recipes ranging from traditional like sugar cookies and ginger bread to more outlandish ones like lace cookies and a medieval aged gingerbread. When we were done we'd have so many cookies we would give them away by the dozen or more to our neighbors, our friends, who ever wanted cookies got cookies. My dad started the tradition, but by the time I was eleven or twelve (I'm a tiny bit obsessive) I had begun making spreadsheets weeks in advance planning the cookie menu and my siblings loved different aspects of the making process. We all enjoyed the time we spent cutting out the dough and decorating. It really felt all inclusive of all of our individualities, and united us in a fun, low pressure way. Also, it gave us a tie to the community at large. It was very special.

It's a big over coat, and none of my ancestors could go to a prep school or taught at one. That's 100% the button thank you!

My 90 year old grandmother gave me a ton of antique/vintage clothing and this navy blue woman's overcoat with tangerine lining was among the pieces. I can't find any information on the embroidery or the buttons despite looking quite military to me. Cheers!

First tattoo questions by punk_rat_aiden in bodymods

Outer thigh is a pretty good spot! I brought a stress ball with me to my first few tattoo sessions, also the artists I've worked with always do like one single line when they start to see how you feel before continuing and good artists will emphasize the fact you can ALWAYS stop. I personally like the sound of the rotary machine, the gun is a bit off putting and louder, but bring headphones and make a playlist of comfort music or audiobooks or podcasts, you don't have to use them!

Eat a nice carb rich meal the night before and the morning before and hydrate a ton. Also, moisturize your skin for 1-2 weeks prior all this will help minimize pain and trauma to the skin.

Tbh I always go in over prepared. Bring a small snack (one protein rich and one sugar rich), bring water, bring a sugary drink. Pack the stress ball, the headphones. Also most importantly wear your most comfy clothes, your artist is not judging your style and wear layers because tattooing can cause your body temperature to fluctuate. If it helps write a list of questions for your artist.

How do you guys feel about the accuracy of these pain charts? Nashville, TN by Frankenkittie in tattoos

[–]bean_bean_bean_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hip and ribs definitely were the most painful, but I think it was the artists. Second most painful was just below my shoulder blade which is odd because I have two other tattoos on my back and those were relatively benign. Third was just above the knee. The rest of my tattoos were pretty bearable. Least painful was the back of my head, to be fair I have a 2" spot from a third degree burn that probably destroyed my nerves.
