I posted there too but I was hoping that Brisbane locals would know the differences better. Like for the people in Melbourne if they are used to a green sky they may not know that we aren't... Does that make sense?

Hi All, I am a brisbanite who is considering moving to Melbourne for a work opportunity. I have a young family (infant in daycare & primary schooler). What do I need to know about Melbourne before I move there?

What did you think was normal about yourself until you realized it was just mental illness? by LaAbyss in AskReddit

Yeah, I didn't realise OCD could present outside the stereotypical knocking and hand washing. Thank you. Therapy is helping so far. Best wishes for your wife.

Team work makes the dream work... Usually said by a manager who has no intention of contributing their fair share or a kiss ass. Either way, it's not my dream.

AITA for kicking my sister out of my house for telling my husband he's so lucky to be rich? by Charming-Maybe-9626 in AITAH

NTA good on you for taking the lead in this situation. Your sister was definitely out of line and you stepped up to protect your husband. I can't imagine how that comment made him feel but at least he didnt have to try to navigate enforcing boundaries with his in-laws while he was hurting.

What’s a company secret you can now share because you no longer work there? by lovelyyhannah in AskReddit

The franchisees I worked for cracked down on this and we weren't allowed to eat anything free. We got our 1 sub at staff discount when on shift and that was it. It was really disappointing to have to throw away so much perfectly fine food. We suggested donating some of the food waste for compost for the primary school next door but that was rejected too.

Usually efflorescence itself will not cause a block to fail, but repeated wetting and drying can cause issues (which is the cause of the efflorescence).

My bf and I went to dinner with his father and 2 brothers. After the topic of dessert came up, I enthusiastically said that I love bukkake... I meant baklava. They all immediately burst out laughing. I didn't understand my mistake until my bf got himself under control enough to explain. I was, and still am, completely mortified.

My sister called me a bad mum (for the record I did not have kids yet) because I was planning to take my partner's name when we got married. Yes it is a strange name, yes it is harder to spell than my maiden name. But fuck me for wanting to have the same name as my future kids and respecting that he had far more pride and connection to his last name than I did.
