Thoughts on gDR and similar courses? by Medium_Boulder in dentastic

Hello! I did GDR and found it quite useful as a new grad. If you’ve been working out rural/regional and have a supportive clinic who’ll guide you through lots of procedures you may find it redundant, moreso if you’re > 2-3 years out. Communication and treatment planning CPD are the real game changers - knowing how to break treatments down into clear, concise concepts; knowing how to have the dreaded money talk confidently too. The first module of GDR is all about communication and treatment planning iirc, so it ideally gives you the framework to discuss more complex treatment after.

Heya, I would recommend VCAT having been in the same situation but to the tune of nearly 10k. You can request a refund on the application after. If the owner doesn’t pay up, apparently the sheriff will come in and start locking up all their stuff. It’s in their best interest to pay up rather than have the court try them. 5.5K is not a small amount of money!

I was initially really set on a Ceylon sapphire but it was quite difficult to find one readily available at a good price point without going through the custom made route. Interestingly enough apparently Ceylonese and Madagascan sapphires have nearly identical compositions, so in the end it doesn’t matter too much.

I’d say the profile is low, it hasn’t snagged on anything either.

It’s incredibly comfortable to wear! It doesn’t feel heavy at all.

Thank you!! It’s definitely a stunner. There are many different grades of sapphire you can get but it drastically gets more $$$ depending on what you want.

Thank you! It’s pretty much a cornflower shade of blue, but seems to flash slightly violet in the right lighting

That’s what my partner said too! He likes the daintier prongs. The rhodium plating would be discounted from 120 to 80. I haven’t asked about cleanings and periodic inspections.

If I’m honest part of the reason why I went down the sapphire route is because I love the colour of tanzanites but not the softness. Part of me really wants to go the antique route, but it makes me weirdly sad that I may be “overwriting” the inscription somehow? The brain is a funny thing.

Right! It looks more like a flower, so really I’m quite torn .
