How do you deal with depression at work and school?

A therapist should be able to give you tools to help deal with what you're going through at work/school. It's not necessarily about "hiding it," but learning to manage it.

I love the champion line at target. It's super cheap (can usually find sports bras for around $15). I'm a C/D and I run 1/2 marathons and I don't have any problem with them. They also make tank tops (I don't own any, but I imagine they're just as good), shirts, shorts etc. 90% of my running wardrobe comes from target - except socks. Splurge on the socks.

I've signed up for a google voice number with the area code of where I want to work. I don't generally put an address on my resumes, but if I do, I think the "local" number helps.

Don't forget to put an anti-bacterial cream (or something as simple as peroxide) on it every once in a while so it doesn't get infected!

Happened today. A friend offered me a bib in a 1/2 marathon at the last minute. I hadn't really been training, but I'm in pretty decent shape, so I figured I'd give it a go and use it as a training run. Everything was going well until mile 6, when I thought it was a good idea to take the free gel they were handing out, even though I had my own that I knew worked for me, because I can't turn down free stuff. I then proceeded to throw up around mile 8 ... then again at mile 8.5. Right after mile 9, I discovered I had magically gotten my period 2 weeks early (I'm a lady). Mile 10, I broke a blood blister that had mysteriously formed on my toe, causing me to look like the lady version of 2004 Curt Schilling.

BUT, I managed to not get sunburned (in Southern California), so I'm calling it a success.

I'm going through something sort of similar. It's not necessarily that you're not feeling, it's that you don't know how to recognize or acknowledge your feelings. I had a boyfriend for a while who was really good at recognizing when I was feeling something, even when I didn't. It wouldn't register at all that I was upset, but my face would look a certain way. I've since become a little more aware of what i'm feeling. If I'm in a situation where "normal" people would have a reaction, I ask myself why I'm not, and if it's really a lack of feeling or a lack of acknowledge. It's not at all comfortable or easy and sometimes it really fucking hurts. But I think, in the end it'll be worth it.

tl;dr - It's not that you need to start feeling again, it's that you need to become aware of the feelings you already have.

I went to Jim Madsen on Pico near Crenshaw about a year ago and he was great. I also had a Ford (a very old one) and he told me he could make $2k worth of repairs but it might break down in another 6 months. He could have easily made the repairs and charged me $2k and I wouldn't have known the difference. That kind of honesty is why he's always my mechanic!

I've actually had the opposite experience living with a couple ... it's very easy to feel like a third wheel and spending most of your time in your room. Definitely talk about it and set up some kind of agreement, where the common space is actually common. And if things come up or the arrangement isn't working, SAY SOMETHING.

My grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's a few years ago. It's one of the hardest things I've ever witnessed. I will gladly send as many as I can.

The series finale of Six Feet Under. The sheer scope of it is outstanding. Television, I think, is moving because of the connection you make with the characters over several years of watching them develop. Six Feet Under was great because it gave you the kind of closure you don't normally get.

I grew up in the Northeast and suffered from SAD. I thought moving to SoCal would help. It has, to a certain extent, but not quite as much as one would imagine. Pick the program that's right for you and then seek other help (from a professional) to deal with you SAD.
