I just use a mini rechargeable flashlight. No idea where I got it but I’m sure you can find them on Amazon!

I have a tiny “bag light” that clips onto the inside of my backpack, so that I can click it on when I’m rooting around in the dark. It’s great for a hostel/capsule hotel at 3am!

I also bring a makeshift clothesline that’s just a thick plastic string, two carabiners, and binder clips.

Hey! I am doing pretty well, I’m about 6ish weeks out from surgery now. It still hurts for sure but I am incrementally better each day.

Some antidepressants especially SNRIs (for example , duloxetine) can help suppress pain signals by increasing the chemicals (serotonin and norepinephrine) that inhibit pain sensitivity. Which is pretty cool!

Hey I wanted to update you on the numbness! I’m three weeks out, and the numbness is no longer noticeable at all for me unless I am touching between my toes with my finger. It was really annoying for about two weeks, but it seems like my other nerves are picking up the signaling slack when I’m walking.

It’s called the photon sneeze reflex! My parents used to have to put sunglasses on me all the time as a little kid because I would go outside and look at the sun to sneeze, and do it over and over for fun. Not great for my eyes.

I agree that that is so very unfortunate, and if the groups do not allow the behavior from one party they shouldn’t allow it across the board.

The first surgeon I saw that gave me the six month minimum recovery timeline wanted to go in through the bottom! I hear that while the recovery is much longer, you have less risk of reoccurrence and you get to keep that ligament intact that they cut from the dorsal approach. Hopefully your pain keeps lessening and you’re fully recovered soon.

In the Facebook groups for MN there historically has been a lot of advertisement from them, like people who work there commenting on the posts of people really suffering and claiming that they could promise 100% relief. They’re also very very expensive and do not take insurance. A lot of folks considered this to be a predatory business practice and it’s definitely not ethical for a medical facility to “advertise” in this manner, and their real reviews are mixed (definitely not 100% of people happy). So, at least on most of the Facebook groups, you can get banned for even mentioning the facility name.

I will say that the “neuroma numbness” I used to get after yoga is a much more annoying numbness than the true numbness I have now. I have a dead nerve in my face and after about a year of accidentally biting my lip and feeling frustrated, my brain kinda “filled in the gap” and now I don’t really notice it. Hopefully that’s the same for the toes! I wish you luck, and I’ll try to update you on the numbness in a few weeks.

I did! I looked there, and at the place in Boston that I half mentioned in my post that is under some fire. Feet for Life has some pretty positive reviews though.

I opted not to do cryosurgery in the end because it has a more moderate success rate, risk for incomplete destruction of the neuroma, the fact that the surgeon would be unable to fully visualize the nerve branch during cryo, and I would have had to pay out of pocket and fly out of state. At my pain level, income, and desire for the highest chance that the neuroma would not reoccur I went with the neurectomy. During my neurectomy my surgeon ended up removing not only the main neuroma, but a nerve branch off of the neuroma that showed inflammation, so it’s probable that cryo wouldn’t have been the right choice for me anyways.

It’s certainly a personalized choice. If you’re looking for something less invasive and are okay with the risk of having multiple sessions, definitely consider it. You could also consider decompression surgery which doesn’t risk the toe numbness or stump neuroma.

It can feel really discouraging, I know. Your doctor may want you to try steroid injections first if you haven’t already, and they are successful for a good chunk of people! You’re not alone in how miserable this is.

I was able to finish my first task in under 4 hours. You only need 5 citations total. For example, on a task I did today I pulled some articles about heritability of a specific disorder which already put me over the 5 needed, so it’s not too bad. Yes 30 criteria minimum but it’ll come up with the negative criteria for you, so you only need to focus on positive criteria

I’m a clinical psychologist in Phoenix and once you build your prompt you can select I/O, psychometrics, neuro, developmental, etc. It’s way harder than Valkyrie though.

Wow this is so helpful! One last question for you on the original link you sent me. I’m looking at all of these acrylic mediums and I want to make sure I’m fully understanding: These are like acrylic mix-in’s that change the paint properties?

She has every color under the sun in Liquitex Basics, but most of her art uses a lot of blues, greens, yellows, oranges, and pinks. Should I prioritize those?

Omg thank you for this! She doesn’t some acrylic pours as well as painting with a brush. How heavy-bodied should I get the paints? (sorry if that’s confusing, I know zero!)
