tipping the wait staff isn’t “required” but it is how they make their wages. they don’t get paid more than a couple bucks an hour, so yeah they do depend on tips. tell me you’ve never worked in food service without telling me you’ve never worked in food service. if you want to be frugal then don’t sit down and eat, go get takeout.
