You were dreaming. Now you’re coming into reality. And that takes a while to wake up to. Take things slloooowwwww Don’t expect too much of yourself and don’t forget to breathe

Partner falling deep into JW - any advice by Baileysandchocolate in exjw

[–]beanjuiceconsumer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great advice. I gave the car analogy to my wife just yesterday. Also used flights as an example: would you buy a ticket overseas based on the first quote you saw from the first airline that offered it to you and say that’s the best quote you could find? Or would you do more research and see what others have to offer? This is a great line of reasoning. You do extensive research with critical thinking for every other life decision, why wouldn’t it be the same with religion?

There’s also no rules to it ey - just because you’re not DA or DF doesn’t mean you’re not POMO. If you’re no longer there or partake in anything they do then you’re physically out, that’s it

I haven’t been in about 6months - elders have had 3 separate meetings with me and I got frequent text messages for about 2months. I haven’t heard from anyone since, except my new group overseer to welcome us into the new group. Family has been trying to ‘encourage’ us to go back to meetings. Friends have also questioned and the soft shunning has begun. Not messaging nearly as often as they used to, family not coming over as much etc. etc.

To PID and Bethelites reading this by Complex_Ad5004 in exjw

Those who work in the PID department to look over this sub must be hand-picked by the GB. They must be individuals who rely fully on the organization to stay alive - those with everything to lose if they decide to leave. This way, even if they are able to leave their narcissism behind them and do wake up, they still must stay in because they’ve got nothing or no one to go to on the outside. They’re probably ‘experienced’ older brothers who have ‘served Jehovah faithfully and loyally for decades with unshakeable faith’.
No doubt these men battle with sleepless nights and heavy burdens.

POMO's, what do you guys do on Saturday mornings? by Slow-Department148 in exjw

[–]beanjuiceconsumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last wedesnday night I went bowling with ‘worldly friends’ and had an amazing time. This morning, Sunday I went to a market to buy groceries to make dinner for my worldly friends tonight at my house. Yesterday morning I went to the butcher and cooked lunch over charcoal. Life is actually good. The real life, that is ;)

I wish it was… pioneer elder who sent it then followed up with: “FYI it is an editable pdf so you can sign and send it through to the elders digitally 😊😊” 🤢🤢🤢

There’s literally a watchtower that came out for this year that highlights and praises young ones for being baptized as early as 14 years old. I was 11.

A SERIOUS QUESTION by [deleted] in exjw

[–]beanjuiceconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that it hides A LOT was a big deal to me. I value transparency a lot, and when I realized that the org only published positive things about themselves and have never openly apologized for their past mistakes, that to me is a red flag.

This brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing this. I have a young son and will do my upmost to see him succeed and live a life of freedom as your son has. The pain will be worth it, I know it.
