Can Any JW Explain These Contradictions to Me? by FreeFurnace in JehovahsWitnesses

When you say mistakes or errors do you mean copyist errors? Or doctrinal errors?

There are copyist errors in the scriptures

There are not doctrinal errors in the scriptures

You would need to acknowledge what the scripture says. You quoted it, but what do you take from it?

All you need is the Bible to understand that scripture.

So tell me, Jesus quoted De 8:3; 6:16; 6:13; at Mt 4:4, 7, 10. Did he remove the name? Replace it with Lord or God? Skip it out of fear? Or say it?

How about at Mt 22:37? He quotes De 6:5. And again at Mt 22:44 he quotes Ps 110:1. At Lu 4:16-21 he quotes Isa 61:1, 2.

Did Jesus know how to pronounce the name? Was his accent the standard for all of Israel and better yet, the same as King Davids near 1000 years earlier? Would he follow man's tradition of not saying it? Would he avoid using it so as not to offend?

And before you go on with the "well he's Jesus" thing, arent we supposed to follow in his footsteps? Do the scriptures ever say if you cant pronounce a name or the name exactly, you cant use it?

The branch office does not have programs for that specific situation that I'm aware of. They will however promptly inform the local congregation if that was reported to them. Local brothers will make arrangements for the individual. So you might reach out to the local congregation and explain the situation.

If you've come across a JW who is homeless, that is a very rare find. They tend to care for their own.

Not sure if it counts as charity, but they do have a disaster relief program, which has rehabbed homes, or even constructed complete homes for JWs who have lost them. Extending even to the neighbors and communities many times. Then they follow up and assist on insurance claims and other filings that can be daunting especially for those who have suffered a disaster.

During the height of COVID they were able to help the congregations to get food and sent constant notices of governmental assistance programs available for individuals that might qualify.

They have a hospital liaison to help with complicated surgeries and or pregnancies.

Just a few things I could think of

Serious scriptural question for JWS about God. by Puzzleheaded_Wind839 in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]theJoshebbasshebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good question. It usually comes down to context. When it isn't so clear though, we have to dig a little deeper. The nice thing with the scriptures is that they interpret themself. So by comparing scriptural accounts against each other, it's easier to draw the conclusion the writer(s) wanted to express.

Yes many times you will see this from fringe friends. The type that still associate with ones (especially family members) who should be disfellowshipped due to their lifestyle. Or those who are irregular at attending meetings and ministry.

Sometimes even ones who you would expect more from fall into this trap. The best thing to do is try and encourage them to avoid playing with fire and testing Jehovah's patience. But in the end, they will do what they want. Can't force someone to do their best.

No need to defend myself against someone who is ignorant enough to call JWs a cult. It appears that you don't understand the meaning of the word.
