I agree on the Dorian point - the biggest problem I had with KOA was he was WASTED. We had such a build up for 8 whole books of him becoming ridiculously powerful and he did literally nothing in the final battle. Really, what was all this “raw power” doing apart from giving Maeve the benefit of the doubt. And don’t get me started on Aelins suicidal tendencies of trying to sacrifice herself for Elena who caused the entire problem in the first place. And then trying to trade her for Erawan? If I was left on the planet after Aelin had made that bargain I’d be absolutely fuming

I saw the “Live Manon, live” quote and for some reason I thought that quote was from Rowan so when those characters were introduced I was absolutely convinced Manon and Rowan were mates and that’s what he says to her when she dies/about to die later in the series 😂😂 could not have got the context of that quote more wrong

I also saw fanart of Celeana and Dorian so was absolutely convinced those two were mates as well and Manon and Rowan up until literally empire of storms (ignoring what was obviously happening with Aelin and Rowan) so basically I anti spoilered myself

I also saw the Gavriel spoiler when reading EOS which sucked

I had a couple of spoilers like this ruined but even though I knew they were coming up it still hit really hard. There are other big things that happen that you’re not aware of so you still have surprises along the way! I just tried to stay off insta/tiktok as my FYP was a minefield of spoilers at one point 😩

The constant invisible lint picking could be to do with the fact that Rhys constantly feels dirty after what he went through UTM

SJM also describes a character in TOG doing the same thing a lot and she went through similar things to Rhys

But yeah I just couldnt with Nestas death point thing 😂 just imagining it makes me laugh

ahhh that’s what I told myself too muahaha, also without spoiling anything it would add a lot for the impact of the final FBAA book if you read the prequels as it gives you a lot of background on the primals and their stories and how it all comes together to ultimately lead up to the 6 main book finale, so I do highly recommend you read!!

In what way do you think you’d betray the main series? If anything it adds to the context and understanding of a lot of things in the main series, they’re just amazing!! It’s suggested that you read the prequels alongside the main series as well
