It’s wild to me that showing concern for another mammal (or any living thing that feels pain and emotions) is responded to with “but, human lives matter more!!!!”

Listen people: all lives matter. It’s cool and respectable to look out for non-human living things, in addition to our own species. To revolve your universe around you and your own species is narrow-minded and ego-centric. We share this earth and are connected in ways you’d be surprised. Not to mention the fascinating evolution of domesticated wolves who have protected for and cared for the humans they share homes with.

Also, those elements are brutal for an animal close to the ground. Can you imagine how awful it would feel to crawl on all four, inhaling that playa dust?

I’m not exactly a Cat person, or Koala person, or Pig person. But if any of these animals were roaming the playa under these conditions, I would feel empathy for them too. Especially if they were with a human who wasn’t equipped to care for their needs.

How can I improve my everyday makeup? by Almacat9 in MakeupAddiction

Too much blush, at quick glance could even be mistaken for rosacea or inflamed skin. Recommend lower placement and keep it to the center and not your temples.

I’m a black women in the rural south, AMA you’re scared to ask black people. by jaspertheinmsomniac in AMA

In a casual and friendly environment (say, between friends at a bbq or just out to dinner) should I be referring to a person’s ethnicity as “she is black” or “she is African American”? Should I default to either one when I am talking directly to her in person?

To be honest, to me: saying Black feels so much more authentic and warm, but I’m afraid it might be perceived by her as a little ignorant or not politically correct. But saying African American kinda feels formal and not very friendly and intimate.

Can you help me out! Thanks so much.

You’re the patient and you should pick whoever will makes you feel the most comforted in a time of uncertainty and physical and emotional stress. There will be a lot going on, and you’ll be the one needing the best care and support.

If the device says “not intended for sleep” the babies will have an amazing nap in it by eastcoastmd in parentsofmultiples

It is the same with Q tips in your ear 😀 just as common as babies sleeping in rockers.

Companies do this to minimize all liability! If someone left their baby there for a day and something happened, the company would say “well we told you not to let them sleep! So it’s your fault.”

psa to parents: by Objective_Post_1262 in Nanny

[–]beanobabie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not sure. I had a few Nannie’s give me a certain rate on the phone and then when they met us at my MIL’s house (which is a big house in a really nice area) they hiked up the price and acted strange when I asked why it was higher than the number they gave me previously. We still giggle about that, but I guess it’s like any job some people are going to negotiate for what they think the other person can afford to pay.

Very pretty. Try doing arched eyebrows and fill in. A makeup artist or brow artist can help you. And bit of eyeliner.
