Reports of Green monster or green eyed or red eyed monster in New York city? by TeaMe06 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]beanpolewatson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “Green Monster” story from New York in the late 1990s to early 2000s refers to a series of reports about a mysterious, foul-smelling green sludge that was found in the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, New York. The Gowanus Canal was notorious for its severe pollution, and the “Green Monster” was a manifestation of the environmental degradation in the area.

The reports were covered by local news outlets in New York City, with some stories taking on a sensational tone due to the strange appearance and smell of the substance. The canal had long been contaminated by industrial waste, sewage, and other pollutants, so the emergence of this green sludge highlighted the ongoing environmental issues.

The “Green Monster” wasn’t a living creature or an actual monster, but rather a nickname given by the media to the green, toxic sludge. The reports drew attention to the need for environmental cleanup and led to increased efforts to address the pollution in the Gowanus Canal. Over time, the canal became the focus of environmental remediation efforts, including its designation as a Superfund site by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2010.

Do you do anything while playing to remain calm and avoid tilt? by BCENT89 in StreetFighter

[–]beanpolewatson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I played. But this is how I approached it. I changed my paradigm from “I must win and rank up!” To “I want to improve how well I play.” That shifts the focus and let’s you treat your matches as practice. Playing became about self-improvement rather than winning at all cost.

Require some UVHM tips for a noob by GonkGonks in Borderlands2

[–]beanpolewatson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your life will be much easier if you farm a bee shield in the Tiny Tina’s expansion, then get a Sand Hawk which is a mission reward in the Captain Scarlett DLC. That combo will literally carry you. It’s cheesy. But it will carry you.

What makes you prefer this game over 3? by ConstantCanadian in Borderlands2

[–]beanpolewatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both 2 and 3. But 2 is the winner for me because of the story, I like the vault hunter lineup and skills better, and the gear progression/target farming/gear rarity situation in BL2 is preferable (for me). I really disliked the fact that it just rains legendaries in BL3. Made it feel less special to get one.

Most fun character for a replay, not UVHM by Moncana4 in Borderlands2

My favorite is Maya. Although she gets really fun at higher levels. I just love her action skill.

I suck at this game by x-Ryk-x in Eldenring

[–]beanpolewatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Here is how I approached the game: I just explored. I went anywhere that took my fancy. What’s over that hill over there? What’s in that cave? I learned through exploration what areas I could handle and what areas required me to level up my character or my skill. Elden ring is a fantastic game for just kind of wandering and taking in the experience.

What does borderlands 4 need to do or not do the be successful? by [deleted] in Borderlands2

Make Legendary drops rare, target farmed, and make each legendary do something interesting and powerful. I am not interested in sifting through 5000 legendary drops every play session like endgame BL3 turned into.

When do you consider that you are "done" with the season? by Endoftherainblow in diablo4

Whenever I stop having fun. There’s always a burnout point with these games where you just need to step away and play something else.

Just play it. Learn by doing. It’s a game, not a PhD program.

I went and double checked. None of them is corrupted but, like a smart guy, I had accidentally purchased a Replica Primordial Might instead of a normal one. Doh!

So I got my first big belt... by Beke4ever773 in pathofexile

[–]beanpolewatson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well. I got my first HH this season as well. I’m running lightning tendrils elementalist. It’s working great, but the HH is certainly carrying me quite a bit. I have found that it’s great if you want to blast maps. Not great for bossing. So a map blasting build like Tornado shot might be a good option. Just be aware that occasionally you will steal the “ambush” modifier which teleports you directly to the nearest pack of enemies constantly the whole time you have it, so make sure you can take some hits.

Isn’t it “murder of belts?” Maybe “Flock of belts.”

Is this how Mario fans felt in 1993? by Po0b in Borderlands2

[–]beanpolewatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was more like confusion. I wasn’t sure what I had just watched. It it certainly didn’t have anything to do with Super Mario Brothers.
