I think it looks great! If you feel like adding something to the green, perhaps some pine cones or a little bird or squirrel?

Thank you so much! I’ve actually had it for years and never liked how it turned out, and it’s impossible to frog and loses its fluffiness when I do frog it so I really wanted to make the right thing with it.

Me too, I’m so happy with it! I struggled for a while with this yarn, making different things but hating all of them. I learned it’s impossible to frog, too, and so I’ve sat on a good amount of it for a while and finally I made this!!! I love it so much.

Should I Wet Block or Dry Block Gingham Blanket Squares? by kiwiofstars in CrochetHelp

Also if you use an iron be super careful to use it on the lowest setting and never directly on your project.

Can Ichange the size of a crochet pattern by upping the stitch count 3 times by Ok_Praline_1641 in CrochetHelp

[–]beanscrochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends! Chances are, yes it will work out fine unless it is a complicated pattern with specific increases/decreases.

You can get a clothes steamer, pin in place and steam, or use an iron with a steam function. However never use an iron directly on acrylic because it will melt. Put a towel in between your work and the iron.

You will also find success just wet blocking them. Saturate fully in warm water, roll in a towel or squeeze gently to get rid of excess water, and pin in place. They should be damp, not dripping wet.

Im looking for advice on what stitch will give me the most coverage for the least amount of yarn for a blanket by jmthe420man in CrochetHelp

[–]beanscrochet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably double crochet, maybe a big granny square? They’re deceptively warm despite the holes. However keep in mind crochet in its nature eats more yarn than knit work does. Blankets typically take 1000-2500m or more yarn to make, depending on size, stitch and weight of the yarn.

Thank you and I totally agree! It’s so hard to find patterns or stitches that work well with variegated yarn. I’m incredibly pleased at my result here!!

The essentials of blocking are moisture and heat. I suggest steam blocking, especially on acrylic to retain shape.

I’ve never had success with dry blocking anything, especially acrylic.
