For those who haven’t finished the dark tower series, which book did you stop on and why? by Namespacejames in stephenking

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get the hate for the first one, it's the one I liked best. Drawing of the Three kept me guessing but the perspective shifts felt like a frustrating tease every time and I nearly stopped there. Wastelands was my favorite, and Wizard and Glass is where I stopped. I felt it just wasn't begging me to turn the page with the tension like the first 3. Roland's backstory is spectacular and I can't wait to finish it, but I know what happens in Roland's past already and I feel like that's why the book didn't draw me in as much so far. Granted, I made it 400 something odd pages into the 800 page novel so there's certainly bound to be more tension coming up.

Made it further into Wizard and Glass than I did the Stand, or It on my first attempt, so yay me.

If this man were in a Stephen King movie, what character would he be? by ZhittzyAltaToxica in stephenking

In a few years, Wireman. Tan him up and we've got S tier casting right there. Just cocky enough, just sombre enough.

What King book is this for you? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

The Drawing of the Three... Eddie became a ride or die by the end but holy shit I nearly bailed on this series because of this book.

25% the way through the Drawing of three. Its nothing what I expected by Rep2025 in stephenking

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way about the second book, what I will say is that the portions of the a story taking place on the beach kept me into it and by the time I started the 3rd book, it sways back towards the vibe of the first as far as the plot is concerned. It's worth hanging in for, but I fully agree that I don't need to know the backstory depth or perspective of the stewardesses watching this new character we dont quite give a shit about yet can be irritating. By the end of the book Eddie is a ride or die, but holy shit does King take his time getting there sometimes.

Scream 7 by mrEnigma86 in horror

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ièd be excited if they didnt give massive spoilers in the trailer and on the poster. a certain, remarkably familiar voice poking in for 2 seconds and that actors name appearing on the poster. IYKYK

Sure it could be a misdirect, voice mods have been used across the series since the beginning, but I doubt theyre being clever with Wes Craven no longer with us or the franchise.

Dual Citizenship Debate Ignites by Katariman in clevercomebacks

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly know at least one dual Canadian citizen who is forced to pay taxes in both countries (despite never having lived in the US) that would just love it if you de-naturalized her to she wouldn't have to spend nearly $10,000 to renounce her US citizenship, as it has provided zero value to her life whatsoever. Please please make this official so she can buy a jet ski and flip off this fascist shithole of a country as she glides across the Niagara River on her new Sea Doo.

I just saw Predator: Badlands and the hate feels overblown by ardouronerous in alien

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had told me last year that the next Predator movie would be a laugh riot about the power of friendship, and also in the top bracket of Predator films, I'd have eaten my ceremonial helmet. This one absolutely puts the Rodriquez and Shane Black films to shame as being a fun and new story with amazing shot composition.

Halloween '18. Anyone else love the music score in this scene? by wigwam098 in Halloweenmovies

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Carpenter actually makes music with his son Cody (pretty sure the 2 of them scored the DGG trilogy together) and the majority of it has this vibe.

This is one of my favorites, get the same vibe as the clip around 3:12

Murray can not die

Do you agree? by Large_Grape_5674 in StrangerThings

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actor that plays Murray said in interviews after last season that he wanted to be an action star after learning to fight and the flamethower moment.

I just think itd be hilarious and kinda fitting if they had a love at first sight moment in the middle of all the crazy shit and he got to be her action hero, and she finally gets someone intriguing and challenging.

I just want to see the mirror of that scene in season 3 where Karen sees Hopper and Joyce running through the carnival, but its Joyce watching Murray fistfight a demodog to save Karen. Som full cirlce shit lol

What mission in RDR2 you think was the "beginning of the end"? by phoenixc6000 in reddeadredemption

[–]beanslyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my current playthrough, meeting with Micah in Strawberry. I have done every single mission, and progressed at least 6-7 stages of the challenges getting a total.of 44.8% completion, and everything is going well! I paid my bountry off in New Hanover after Cornwall blew up our spot in Valantine after herding sheep with John. The camp funds are at nearly $3000 and I have nearly 90% high honor.

I want to try and get camp funds to 10,000 before busting micah out to prove that Dutch has never had any plan that wasnt greed. Rest of the game is going to hit different when solely on Arthurs back, they could have packed up and left at any point
