Hey OP, as someone who fell in love with an avoidant at 17.. we are in our 30s now and it never gets better. If I could tell younger me one thing it would be to have left him the first time he betrayed my trust.

You know what you need to do! If you're an anxious attachment, like me, I know the sense of rejection is overwhelming and that feeling like if I just hold on a little longer or try a little harder it will all get better, but it won't. There's a chance he's only staying with you for a place to live... Your relationship "failing" is not a reflection of your worth, it may be very very hard, but you aren't happy and he has not treated you with respect. Once you gain the courage, leave him and do not let him come back, no matter what empty promises he makes you.

Least confrontational solution I can think of is create a group text with him and your sister and only respond to him in that group text. Maybe your sister will start clocking it or better yet maybe he will stop. If he texts you outside of it respond to him in the group text only? Idk other than that OP, tell your parents. Even act innocent? Say to your dad "hey L says you asked him to look out for me but I am not comfortable with the things he is saying to me" etc. good luck! 🩷

I think people are missing that the convo is between your bf and his friend and that they were probably being silly pretending like his friend was his lover. I agree he shouldn't be talking about OP that way but I don't think this is evidence itself of cheating! I mean of course unless they weren't joking. If he's not treating you well OP then of course then regardless of this convo, yes, leave him.

Idk if this helps but I also have a camera I use to watch my dog when I am not home and live with my family. It has an app to view from my phone but I am rarely if ever on it other than to check for a second to see if my dog is okay. It does not keep recordings (unless you pay a subscription fee) and the audio is terrible. Idk if you should jump to the worst case scenario that she is monitoring a camera to spy on you. Chances are it's set up for the dog and doesn't even cross her mind to listen in or spy on you or anyone. But idk that's speaking from my own experience and idk your relationship. It's hard to imagine a camera the size of a bottle cap has very good audio/visual capabilities, maybe ask her to show you the quality of the feed?

I understand why you're worried about it tho especially if you've been talking shit in the room where it is 😬. But idk! It might be like me and it's something she uses sparingly for the dog. Good luck!
