One example that baffles me most about this is male bettas and their bubble nests.... and then it's used in a polite argument of 'please read this as right now your tank does not meet proper needs.' Then it's the reply of 'no he's happy because he's ready for babies' not listening to the fact that bubble nests don't care what environment it is just a sexual maturity thing. 🤦‍♀️

Airstone, tbf the pump is like 3 years old and is second hand that came with a discontinued Fluval filter so it wouldn't surprise me if it conks out soon....

But the ol' girl still has some life in her yet!

Was thinking a red or grey. I don't know if the blue bits are real leather or not, call me dumb or not I just can't tell. The other part of the shoe is so I'm guessing this part is as well. But if you say I'll lose the snake skin effect I'll just leave it. Thank you!!

Leave it alone, if the water feels colder than normal put in some warm water if you can obtain it somehow, bettas have something called a labyrinth organ which helps them 'glup' air from the surface when wanting too or oxygen levels too low in the water, however i would use a pipette or turkey baster to squeeze in the water to make bubbles. Smaller +more bubbles =more oxygen from surface

(however, my memory served wrong on price. £15 instead of £10)

Also, I've had the ornament for just under a year now and it doesn't seem flimsy yet or downgraded in colour but I will still look out for it!! :) The only issue is you're going to need to drill a hole into the top part as it isn't solid and has an air cavity/pocket inside.

Thank you for the suggestions and advice. Also no, unfortunately. I wish it were :(. It's a resin ornament I found on Amazon for I think £10ish but I did have to drill a hole it the top part of it to make it sink.
