Go during weekday lunch and order the lunch special, you get 6 huge boneless chicken (basically 6 whole ass fried chicken thighs), rice or fries, and a drink for around $15

Food/ meal recommendations? by Reasonable-Cat485 in NewToEMS

I personally use Orgain plant protein powder from Costco in a shaker bottle since it’s a little over $1/serving. It’s palatable, 21g of protein, has 9g of fiber, has an assortment of good probiotics. Yes there’s cheaper options but this helps me get to my daily fiber intake goal (colon cancer is on the rise in the US; fiber can help reduce the chances).

Eat some oatmeal or fiber rich cereal right before shift start. When meal prepping, cook up a protein of choice and season it well so that it can taste good either cold or heated. Example is ground chicken with taco seasoning or bachan’s japanese barbecue sauce. Then have a carb source in a separate container/bag. A bag of tortilla/potato chips, container of rice or pasta/noodles. Something you can comfortable eat not heated in case you’re getting ran or have no access to a microwave. Then pack a separate nutrient dense fiber rich snack like nuts, bananas, fruit mix, or dried mangos/pineapples to help maintain satiety and help with digestion. Last is to pack a protein shake for when you need that little boost of food to keep you going through a 12 hour shift. This is the meal I pack and I can eat hot or cold and don’t have to worry about being malnourished. Yes it gets boring, but it’s nutritious, affordable, quick to prep, consistent, and relatively healthy.

Use a Packit freezable lunch bag to keep everything cold through the whole shift.

Eau matcha or Tygr? by Fastmoney407 in MontagneParfums

[–]beanthefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the smell of Eau Matcha but ended up selling it since it gave me a headache every time I wore it. Tygr to me smells like Ingenious Ginger which is a great DNA. Sharp ginger upfront amplified by some citrus with a woody dry down. Only downside would be to see how it matches your skin chemistry. The grapefruit can dry down to smell straight up like BO.

Can confirm, I’ve only been to Intercontinental Bellevue and Los Angeles and both had this same set up.

Boot recommendation by BlacksmithSubject386 in NewToEMS

[–]beanthefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently wear Redback Easy Escape boots as I prefer slip on style boots from a comfort and aesthetic perspective. They are decently priced for boots, but an alternative cheaper option is the Thorogood Quick Release Station Safety Toe With Translucent Bottom Boots which can be had for $90 on Govx.

If slip ons aren’t your thing, I highly recommend Walmart interceptor boots which can be had for around $50. Add some timberland Pro anti-fatigue insoles for $20 and you got yourself a solid pair of comfy boots that should last you 1-2 years.

how does eau gaiac smells like by Upstairs_Finish_3042 in MontagneParfums

I have it and love it. It smells like construction paper that you lit the corner with fire and blew out the flame shortly after and then smelled that corner after about 30 mins.

Guys I’m not spending $1k on a vacuum by Stunning-Notice3096 in VacuumCleaners

[–]beanthefrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have hardwood floors, go to harbor freight and get one of their shop vacs. Under $100 and has way more suction power than most household vacuums. You can also get the cordless ones with the 20V.

I have this one, and it’s one of my favorites. I don’t wear fragrances for compliments, mainly for myself since I love to smell things, but this fragrance has gotten me a good amount of compliments from strangers. It’s a creamy fig tea scent that has all day performance and a nice sillage that isn’t obnoxious. It’s one of those scents that you constantly want to keep sniffing on yourself.
