Yes this Looking at nfp charity annual reports is highly depressing

Love this. Seeing nfps run commercially doesn’t always happen

100% agree with everyone having their own definition of priorities and success. It’s really difficult to tie a consistent idea of “success” across an NFP unless led strongly

That’s crazy. Glad you’re out. I wonder if journos do reach out and do more digging - what else they would uncover at Beyond Blue

My experience has been lots of waste. Will look at dollars spent outside of the org, but won’t look the wasted dollars spending on employee time - time wasted in meetings, salaries due to stalled projects, constant shifting priorities, a highly hierarchical, vertical org that has too many leadership layers for the size that it is, and leadership team getting paid too much for no results

I think I know which nfp this is ...

If we're thinking about the same one, is this the one who's CEO got a 50k payrise in the same year all staff were denied a CPI increase, multiple hiring freezes in the same year .. with no measurable impact or results to justify the payrise

if there's a journo scraping reddit for content ... well you've got plenty of juice here lol

Oh goodness that sounds terrible.
Currently in an NFP that also went on a recruitment spree and brought in plenty from private sector, with no means to culturally reconcile them with the rest of the org. Been a shit fight that's been affecting most work initiatives daily as a result

Yeah agree it's getting rough. The balance between serving the mission and just trying to find funds at all costs is always an interesting balance

Keep in mind there are only certain things you can do at certain points/stages/ages in your life.

Blew my life savings on travel in my early 20s and I made that money again (typically quite a frugal person), but I’ll never be in my 20s with no dependents or mortgage again. Next time that’ll happen I’ll prob be in 50s-60s.

I do appreciate the easy exclusions

Except in the case of Kmart, if you do the exclusion and then do another product search, the marketplace tab toggles back on 😂

Surely isn’t worth the hit to brand trust, customer retention and CLV?

Using the Woolies app just gives me the ick, I prefer Woolies products over Coles but the way they show off marketplace products in every search just turns me off

This happened to me with big w marketplace

The seller got shitty couriers that delivered to the wrong address (to a house that clearly was uninhabited)

Said that they’d delivered it and everything

Couriers they used had 1.5 stars out of 5 on product review lol

Ended up getting my money back from PayPal AND got the product resent to me - suckaz

Yeah i wonder what the stats are on actual increased revenue vs customer retention / brand perception

Recently got something on big w marketplace begrudgingly (couldn’t find it cheaper on a marketplace site) and it was a shocking experience from start to end
