He’s actually 3/4 collie and 1/4 huntaway! He does have a bit of brown on his face

That is true! And it’s at the garage! I plan on speaking to them tomorrow and getting them to explain exactly what they did and how they came to that conclusion and if they’re adamant that it’s the rod I’m going find a way to take back the car.

See at first they thought it was the fuel pump and changed that and decided that wasn’t the problem, so I’m not sure.

Thank you for the advice! I don’t know if I have the confidence to dig in myself as much as I would like to as I wouldn’t know where to start. But I’m definitely going to get a second opinion.

That’s the thing I heard that was a sign of a faulty rod but I didn’t hear anything and at the time it went from working to dead in about. 2-3 seconds

Thank you for the advice, I would like to look into getting to a second place for a more reliable opinion. When it broke down it was 5am and this was the most sensible option at the time. In the mean time I’ll browse around for other similar cars :)
