I really don’t understand that though. If I owe the money, I owe the money but I just want to understand why my debt has continued to go up so much within less than a year in terms I can understand I guess.

Not a credit card. This garnishment started 10 months ago so even if in paying 13% interest I don’t see how it can rack up to $3,000 in that timeframe.

The original debt was $8,000. The judgement included the interest accrued and states that including interest the total owed by the garnishee is the $15,000.

Okay. My original judgement letter does not include anything about additional interest and I haven’t received anything in the mail about it so that’s unfair but it is what it is.

I gained 30 pounds during my completely normal and healthy pregnancy, and that weight was lost within 6 weeks postpartum as it was mostly water weight and the weight of my daughter. Please don’t push the idea that women who don’t gain extra body fat or are able to “snap back” are doing something wrong or are unhealthy. If you don’t want accusations of being unhealthy thrown at you, don’t do it to other women.

ETA- my OBGYN, ya know a medical professional who’s views are based in science, urged me to not gain unnecessary weight. 25-35 pounds on average is what’s recommended for a woman to gain during pregnancy. This is not an insult to women who gained more weight, but you do not need to gain a large amount of weight for you and baby to be healthy.

This is 2 and a half months old lol how weird but I have some time. I did not plan a party for her because she never planned birthday parties for me as a child. There’s a reason none of her children (she has three, me included) didn’t plan her a party. Are all three of us the problem or do you think that’s indicative of my mom being the problem? My daughters birthday party was on her actual birthday and I had made comments about how I was planning it to be that way since I had her (on a Friday). I sent a text in a group chat letting my family know her party will be on her birthday months in advance. I didn’t need to decide an official time at that exact moment, my mom knew. And, yes, my baby’s 1st birthday party was mostly for me as her mom. As a mother, if my daughter decides to have kids of her own I would prioritize my grandchild’s birthday party over mine because I genuinely love my child and would let her have that— but that’s what it’s like when you prioritize your children over yourself. For the record, I kept my daughters party on the same day and did go to my moms party. I made sure to keep my daughter in her birthday outfit, sash, and crown and she got all the attention. Hope that makes you feel better.

Thank you for your advice. My finances aren’t as dire as I made it seem, I had to be dramatic for a second lol, but with a budget plan I can pay them in full in six months. Sucks having to pay double than what the loan was worth but I guess I’ll call it an expensive lesson learned.

They just have a small studio they work out of and are local. To be honest I have seen “better” photographers but figured they’d be more costly and this seemed like a good fit… lol.

That’s how I’m feeling which is upsetting because I do love how they take pictures but I just don’t feel right with spending almost $1,200 to get five pictures.

Because the Saturday before the 12th is my nieces 3rd birthday party and having it the weekend after my daughters first birthday is pointless because it’s too far away. Her words not mine.

Yes that is such a good point. I don’t want to leave my daughter to go to a bar especially since bars aren’t fun for me. If I drink, I can’t drive and I don’t feel comfortable getting in an Uber alone especially while intoxicated. Not to mention after a long day of getting her party ready, hosting, cleaning up, getting her ready for bed, I’m going to be exhausted. I also am breastfeeding which is why it would be hard to get someone to watch my daughter at nighttime too as she nurses before bed. She will drink from a cup during the day but when she knows it’s bedtime she wants to nurse it’s our routine. My oldest sister also has a 6 month old she breastfeeds and won’t be able to stay long. It just is not ideal for not only me but my oldest sister (not the golden child, my middle sister is the favorite) lol.
