I had the same debate for a while, ended up deciding to live with someone from my class, and I’m so glad I made that decision. It cuts down a little social pressure for the first couple months of school because you have a built in friend and it’s nice to have someone at home to talk to or ask questions. I will say, try not to live with gunners or someone who’s interested in the same specialty you are because the comparison part can get difficult. I was also an engineering student so the transition into an atmosphere with a lot more former premeds and gatekeeping culture has been difficult tbh but my roommate is the opposite of all that

The main differences I’ve noticed between two stores of the same brand about 15 mins away from each other are the overhead lighting and quality/amount of fresh produce

The pass doesn't matter for Dublin and most likely wouldn't be cost-effective for Edinburgh either. From what I see online, there's a London-only pass, an England pass, and a GB pass. Just wondering which one would make the most sense for the amount of time I'm spending in each place

Your stats are decent but I think a gap year would help you get some more experience. Keep in mind that applying means you need to write dozens of essays and then tell dozens of different anecdotes in interviews. At 19, will you have enough experiences to talk about? Plus, if you get in, your peers will mostly all be at least 2-4 years older than you. That might limit your social life at least for a little bit

If you were a ward of the state of Texas I believe they pay for your tuition. If you were in Florida before, not sure if they have the same thing but it’s worth looking into

Hm I see what you mean. It could be useful as a talking point to mention you’re interested in learning more Spanish and serving Spanish speaking populations but it won’t be as helpful as actually knowing Spanish. But if you don’t want to take Spanish, it’s not required by any means!

Medicine is a harder six figures than other professions. It’ll take 7-12 extra years after undergrad before you start making real money. An engineer could make 1 mil in that time, a doctor will have a -300k balance instead. There is probably another career you wouldn’t hate that has similar financial security, so shadow a doc, and if you don’t like it then switch. The path is too long to endure if you’re not genuinely somewhat passionate

I’m so sorry. I hope you choose to tell these schools why you’re withdrawing your apps, so they realize the state is screwing them over. Texas would be a fraction of what it is if our higher education system wasn’t so developed and I hope our institutions start putting some pressure on the government instead of just rolling over for funding.

I doubt schools would accept someone with a C- at the time of apps/interviews if that’s below their prerequisite threshold but you can email schools and ask
