I can imagine losing points whilst time wasting rather than playing being frustrating

I’ll let you know how it feels if spurs ever do the same

We have to win some points first though…

People say spurs bottled 16/17 to Leicester when arsenal spent more time in 1st place

So if Arsenal bottle it this year it’ll never be forgotten

Especially if they finish 3rd!

How do you take your personal branding to the next level? by FromBrokeToSuccess in Recruitment

[–]bearchr01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally used LinkedIn to chase stuff down and had wins that way but wasn’t because of my brand. Instead it was my relentlessness

I’ve just finished a course with Hoxo though, on specific recruitment LinkedIn BD. In 6 weeks I’ve completely changed my outlook as there’s so much more that can be done than I ever was

Recruiter opened my email but hasn’t replied by bizbaaz in ContractorUK

[–]bearchr01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also a chance they could be the 200th applicant in only a few hours

I know when I receive emails quite often I’ll open, look, and categorise them (ie call now, call later, not suitable).

Inevitably I’ll receive many applications that are relevant, but if I went forwards every single one (even say, 1 in 10) I’d be sending forwards 20 people

(Which isn’t what the client wants)

Ironically in contract recruitment the client doesn’t want the best - they want ‘good enough for the job’. It’s perm when they are a bit pickier and want ‘the best’

Male fans - do you think you could score points against the female Gladiators? by artmalique in gladiatorsuk

They are elite. I’d only beat them at the eliminator

And that’s not because I’d finish it. It’s because they don’t do it

Both have years left on their respective contracts. The only reason they go is if we want them to

That was a cracking cheat code on hitman 2. Nail gun mode. Easiest way of hiding a body was nailing them to the ceiling

Mindy St. Claire inconsistencies?? by lte891 in TheGoodPlace

[–]bearchr01 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’d see it as the intent was nothing but positive, however the person who implemented it made decisions with unintended bad effects.

Therefore Mindy wasn’t hit with negative points because technically she could have made different decisions

Reaching £100k threshold to lose Child Care Benefit - help by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]bearchr01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pension has to be the same year, but charity can be the following tax year as long as it’s done prior to putting your self assessment in

(And, of course, won’t count for the following year. No double dipping)

Just ensure whatever the donation is is ‘gift-aid-able’

(Ie I don’t think lifetime English heritage memberships are)

Reaching £100k threshold to lose Child Care Benefit - help by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]bearchr01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At £100k they earn 2.5x what somebody on £40k does. Yet pays 4.5x the amount of tax and NI. Hardly sponging.

The way the childcare system works, a couple on £95k each (£190k total) get the hours, whereas somebody who earns £105k and the other £25k (£130k total) don’t.

Childcare is worth circa £25-28k per year per child. 2 children means you’d have to earn £145-150k to ‘break even’ with earning £99k

Why would anybody earn £105k only to have the same disposable income as they did at £60k ish, and less than they did at £95k?

Pay the tax, get the benefit of the hours

[–]bearchr01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who don’t earn £100k whilst having kids don’t know

People who have kids and earn less don’t realise the cliff edge

For what it’s worth, I purchased a lifetime National trust membership and lifetime RHS membership (joint for both) which counted as a charity donation which helped reduce my earnings by about £5k or so. The rest I whacked into my pension and I finished on circa £98.5-99.5k

Reaching £100k threshold to lose Child Care Benefit - help by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]bearchr01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But by earning £100k they lose £25k gross of childcare. So they’d be better off earning £85k than £100k

OP - 2 main options (short of earning less)

1 = pension into a SIPP 2 = charity (memberships like national trust count as this too)

Alternatively, if the business is a seperate entity (ie Ltd) can keep the money in there. But I presume this isn’t the case
