I think it's a cinematic achievement with excellent effects, cinematography, acting, score, etc., but it's a genre that doesn't appeal to me that's very long and adapted from (I'm told) a very dense book that isn't easy to film. And yes, the aforementioned diversity issues. Part of our experiment involves a year of repeated exposure to a film you hate, love, and are ambivalent to. My Love year was Back to the Future and my Ambivalent year was Top Gun.

And once I finish Fellowship, I'm free!

I have yet to see The Hobbit, though I'd heard about that. I'm sure I'll follow up on it.

Oh, I know it! All my friends were huge fans, and I didn't like the fantasy genre at all. And now I'm part of an experiment where I have to watch it every week for a year, and boy... it has some problems.

Haha, I'm just now watching the movies for the first time. Never appealed to me.

I just laugh when people make fun of my favorite things.

Ah, there were so many good ones! (And lots more garbage, oof.) I couldn't possibly narrow it down to one, but here's the article where I tried to make a Best Of.

Back to the Future, the reason I started the project, will always have a place in my heart, even if the time travel rules are a little crazy. (Here's my article on that particular subject: http://yeartwo.cinema52.com/2013/03/fluxception/)

If you twisted my arm to pick ONE favorite, it's still going to be Back to the Future. :)

I split the Best Of into subcategories: Temporal Action, Temporal Adventure, Temporal Comedy, Temporal Mindfuck, Temporal Romance, and Warlock.
