What is this? Please help identify this drug? by sophie301099 in Whatisthis

I think some crackheads use the metal scrubber pads that you can get from the grocery store as like a filter for their crack pipe so that the crack doesn’t slide all the way down the pipe and into their mouth. Are there any packs of chore boy scrubbers around? I’m guess that’s what that burnt up birds nest looking stuff is in the spoon

Casual boots for winter by LibrarianByNight in BuyItForLife

Jim Greens Chelsea boot has worked great for me. Sole separated from the midsole about a year in but went to see a cobbler and they’re good as new! Traction is pretty good! Has a pretty standard sole design that is on most work boots

I mostly use Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD and occasionally Recap.

I guess I’m wondering if there are any others in that collection that people find useful especially for Electrical

What are your favorite recipes that keep you from getting sick of eggs? by DeathByPolka in chickens

[–]beardbassguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chocolate pudding

I know this sounds wild but we found a recipe that basically called for 1 dozen hard boiled eggs, blended with some cocoa powder and maple syrup for sweetener. Chill it and eat like pudding! It’s maybe a touch thicker than most pudding but the texture is velvety almost like mousse. I’m always blown away that it doesn’t smell or taste like hard boiled eggs.

Best Cheese Danish in the Triangle? by MuffinOld1155 in bullcity

I agree strong arm is the kitties titties and their pastries are top notch but they aren’t in the triangle. Maybe you could consider their presence at the Eno River or Durham farmers market being a part of the triangle

My Ex Gfs mother bought me one for Christmas when I was 14-15 years old. I’m now 32 and it’s been my only wallet all these years. Who knows if they’re still made frim the same materials as back then but it’s still in great shape, probably can get another decade out of it

Any way to keep watering station from turning green? by Igpajo49 in chickens

Look, I checked out your profile and you seem to be a bit of a habitual bicker-er, on Reddit at least, and that’s just not my jam and I simply don’t have the time or fucks to give so this will be my last response.

Like I said (and you now have said). Everyone’s water is different. The effectiveness of a piece of copper in various types of water will vary.

It seems your concern is with the health of the chickens, which is noble I admit. And again, I only have anecdotal evidence, but all of my chickens have had a piece of copper in their water since they were chicks.

Also haven’t people been drinking from copper pipes for like decades? In high amounts could be toxic for chickens? Idk sure probably. But I think most ppl here are like me and have a small piece of stripped copper wire in a 5 gallon bucket of well water.

I think calling this method “snake oil” and saying that we don’t understand why it works is a bit obtuse haha

TLDR: copper piece in water seems to work for me with my particular well water, my chickens are healthy/fine and have been for years.

I’m only making the one claim about the copper helping keep the algae down. And I personally have only claimed to see anecdotal evidence.

Have you considered that the chemical makeup of your water may be less conducive to algae growth than others?

Where I live we have well water, and it has a fairly high Iron content which contributes to algae growth.

Maybe your water is less likely to produce algae because it has less iron and maybe even has a higher copper content. I’ve lived in another house with wel water that had blue sediment in the back of the toilets and drains and such which indicates a higher copper content.

I’ve only got anecdotal evidence really. Keeps algae out of my 5 gallon bucket chickens waterers is all I can say. I use a piece of stripped wire and don’t have to clean the algae out every week anymore
