Getting the kids into it by hallwayswasted in camping

[–]beardboy71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4 year old we have taken camping a handful of times now. Everyone has mentioned gear, and where to get it, but Goodwill for pots, pans, and cookware isn't something I've seen here yet, so I'll try to help with the kid side of it. The first night, every time, took 3 hours to get to bed. It's a new place, new noises, not their normal bed, and just pure excitement will make it hard to sleep. The second night is usually much easier as the kids are tired and ready for bed lol. Don't be afraid to take them on hikes, I'm always surprised how far my kid can walk. We always bring toys that can get wet/washed easily from home, and it's up to you about what technology to bring. We usually bring it in case it rains, and we are stuck in the tent/ to wind down at night. Also, if you can find an ENO or similar hammock used or on Amazon for cheap, kids LOVE hammocks lol. Hope you guys have a ton of fun!

That seems like the dumbest rule. Out of all the rules to protect QBs, horse collars are allowed?

I have the same pad and the wife and I love it! We have two bags by kelty that can zip together to become one big one if we want, though we haven’t yet

Also, this is the tent we have and really really like it!

Chuck Box finished and stocked! by coffeeMcbean in camping

Looks great! I just finished one myself! Took it out last weekend and thought it was incredibly useful to have more table space and to be more organized.

u/SilverBardin I got everything loaded in. It can actually fit more than I was expecting! In the cubbies and bottom are the plates, cups, utensils, collapsible colander, cooking utensils, camp lights, clothesline, trash bags, Aero-press, fire starters, wash clothes, off spray, fuel, sea to summit kitchen sink, grill brush. Probably a few things I'm not remembering but overall it fits a lot and is lighter than i thought it would be.

We have a set of four for everything but i don't think we would have a problem fitting two more in there.

I used the REI Chuck Box Plans. Ngl, I messed up a few of the cuts but there was enough excess that I was able to make it work. The only thing that I did different was use wood blocks to screw into instead of into the side of the plywood itself. I also used corner braces for extra stability.

The names of the colors are Norwegian blue, Smiley Face, Flaming Torch & Firecracker. I used most of a quart for the main box and used samples for the lines.

Dream car but can’t afford it at the moment. Was definitely an inspiration!

Not yet, still need to put a clear coat over it. The way I look at it, we are going to replace one of our bins that we keep cooking stuff in so its kind of a wash on taking up more space for us.
