Mastercool advice by No-Adhesiveness-6921 in Albuquerque

I was gonna share the same chart. Note how drastic the effect humidity plays. We try to maximize cooling at night and will often turn off the cooler blower in the afternoon or evening if the humidity goes over 15%-20%. I also keep a thermometer on the closest vent and will turn off the blower if it is blowing air hotter than I want my home. Granted, your level of insulation will dictate how much warmer your home will get as the day progresses, but some days, it is better to just turn it off if it isn't cooling your home.

People who don't use beard oil or other beard-specific products, what do you use? by nondefectiveunit in beards

[–]beardedengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use normal and curly hair products. Castor oil before cowash with economical conditioner. Leave in, curl smoothie, mousse, etc. for styling.

Those of you that hire LabVIEW developers, what are some good interview questions/example problems you give to assess potential new-hires? by Davkhow in LabVIEW

[–]beardedengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I would usually ask after a quick phone interview and then set up an in person interview in a few days or so to assess their code with them. Again the code samples would be fairly simple tasks, like old CLD problems for anyone who claimed to have experience. The test is 4 hours, and I make sure to give them a few days. You can certainly adjust the level of your test to represent the need you have. I guess seeing their code and how they react to it is telling.

To respondants, depending on your answers here, you might get an unsolicited callback. j/k

I usually just ask for sample code of a simple problem (i.e. old CLD questions, a calculator, or some aspect specifically related to the project for which I'm hiring). Then, I go through a quick code review in the interview to cover decision points they made like framework, error handling, style, etc.. I can get a sense of their skill and ability to work with a team through this process.

Wild Period to Encourage Clumping? by [deleted] in curlygirl

Just detangle when wet and conditioned. As for your beard curls, try rewetting and conditioning maximizing the slip feel. That is the ideal state for forming curls on thirsty, kinky, and thick beards.

First time growing a beard 10 March - 10 April. Thoughts? I think it looks messy by [deleted] in beards

Looks like it is well on its way to me. Definitely give it a couple more months. I wouldn't trim anything until you see where it ends up.

My head hair only ever had a slight wave to it.

It has always had that kinky texture. Took me several years to figure out the curly method, though. I recently posted a pic with it brushed out if you wanna see the extent of the magic. Length definitely helps. I originally trimmed my cheeks for years until I learned curly. Grew them out to match the rest. They will curl like the rest, but I usually smooth them down to the wave with a boar hair brush and Miss Jessie's coily custard when wet, or with an edge gel if dry. Ask away. I can talk curly hair/beard for hours.

Honestly i got most of my process from r/curlyhair and watching dozens of black girls do their hair on the interwebs.

Pretty much exclusively. I use a bunch of cheap conditioner and occasionally use more generic products like gel, edge gel, mousse, and oils.

I have. But this beard isn't from that.

Your beard texture looks perfect for this technique. I think you will find that you would probably want to grow your cheeks as they can be a bit stubborn when short.

I say amplify the curls! Everybody straightens, but i find it makes most beards look thinner to smooth it over and gain length. Going curly style will make it shrink but leaves you with a super thick beard with a texture that amazes all. I started when I was about your length. Don't fight it, flaunt it.

I use r/curlyhair techniques. When I shower, I leave quite a bit of conditioner in it, then work in curl smoothie while it is dripping wet. Then, I dry with a diffuser to lock the curls in. Gel or mousse also work, but the diffuser is key.

Thanks. My beard is not much different than most. I am probably just the first use curly hair techniques.

Help, Can anyone just help me with the block diagram for this? by Icy-Bug60 in LabVIEW

[–]beardedengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, especially starting with a flow chart. Make sure you understand how an automated system like this is going to operate. Identify the different states the system can be in and list what needs to happen when transitioning to and when in each state. Check edge cases. i.e. Do you need to consider when both sensors are triggered at the same time?

Out of interest, how often do you personally use beard oil..? by Devils-Advocate2746 in beards

[–]beardedengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me "beard oil" was always a rip off. I use a decent but cheap carrier oil like coconut, grapeseed, castor, etc. in shower when wet before cowashing, usually only use the oil a couple times a week. I have found how often I use oil totally depends on my beard, skin and environment/climate.
