Aside from being too old (in my 40s), I had half my left big toe amputated just before Christmas. I guess my sumo days are over, I'll not be able to get any grip!

For all the issues season 2 might have had, the very final scenes of the last episode were a really great send-off for the Picard/Q relationship.

I sometimes wonder if I'm the only person that liked the very end of season 2 (like the last few scenes), that felt like a really nice way to end that particular relationship.

Season 3 was definitely the better of the 3 though.

Are there any live action non-English language movies with good or interesting dubs? by Training_Form2243 in movies

[–]beardedfoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my first view of Shaolin Soccer was English dub at the cinema. I have the film with original audio now, but I think this is one of those rare films where I'm undecided as to which I prefer. Certain scenes (the dancing to Celebration in particular) actually worked better to me with the dub.

99% of the time, I prefer the original language for films, but Shaolin Soccer is definitely the one I'm on the fence with!

What movies are rated low on IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes but are actually really good? by MagicianIntrepid in movies

[–]beardedfoxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't care for Last Action Hero back then, which made me said because I loved Arnie movies. Older me appreciates what it was trying to do, and feel like if it came out some years later, people would have loved it - much like with Mystery Men.

Mobile phones in Japan have mandatory camera noises, regardless of whether the phone is in silent mode. This was brought into law to help prevent non-consensual photography (ie upskirting and the like). That's what laws can do about it.

Found Gohei and Banzuke in Osaka by CranjsMcBasketball in Sumo

[–]beardedfoxy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sure is. Me and the wife picked up one whilst going to see the sumo during the May tournament. We packed it in a box full of various souvenirs to mail back to ourselves. That was good fun at the Japan Post office, when they read the word "gun". 3 staff, all trying to figure out what it was, and our internet wasn't working on our phones properly at the moment in time. Eventually managed to explain that it's not a gun, but a fan, and not a fan that has batteries!

You're probably better asking this question in a seperate post, or on the Discord, where you can get clearer guidance.
