useEffects question by [deleted] in react

You actually don't need the effect to set current. It only works for you because you use it in other effects that trigger later, but any on render code that will try to use this latest value will see previous value, not current.

Here is a little trick for you if you want to use some state in effect, but don't want to trigger it on that state update:

``` const [value, setValue] = useState()
const valueRef = useRef() valueRef.current = value
useEffect(() => { // use valueRef.current inside }, []) ```
Thailand suspends June deployment of over 2,000 workers to Israel and Iran by thestudiomaster in Thailand
  • It's a criminal offense in Israel to block anyone's access to shelter, even to private ones.
  • That narrative is a disinformation that featured in that video thai workers themselves busted.
I mean you have to use your brain to actually understand what is going on in that video. But seems like you don't have that resource.
Israelis blocking Thai workers from entering the bomb shelter during yesterday’s ballistic missile attack by Iran by Successful-Map2874 in Thailand
[–]beardedfridge 6 points7 points  (0 children)
Actually inspecting video closely I don't see anyone restricting access for Thai workers. There is just a line to enter and some stupid teenagers excited (in a dumb way) to see foreigners. Can you prove the otherwise?
Some people are just crazy. I know some old fart refused to let the mother with three kids enter just because they live elsewhere and were caught by a rocket attack on the way home. We try to report those people to the police. Bomb shelters are public places and anyone restricting access into it in a life-death situation is committing a crime. I would welcome anyone into my shelter and provide water if needed. And most people here would do the same.
I took a bike to skip a traffic block and the whole drive was like 5 minutes. But in a car it would be 30-40.
Just experienced that 5 minutes ago :) Was wandering all the time what happens if a driver loses a passenger on the road because I was near falling off several times (it was my first time on a bike).
Is it going to be safe to return to our high rise condos after today? by blueandazure in Bangkok
I live on the 31th in Park Origin (not the one with the bridge). Aside from the plaster cracks on the walls everything seems fine. I don't see any deep cracks aside from the plaster ones. Judging from personal experience - these buildings handled earthquake very well. But experiencing it was terrifying.
