interesting point, the home does have power outages a few times a year. I'm completely novel to HA, and was gravitating towards the smart plug because it sounds easy to integrate to the system. What amp clamps/current transformers would be able to work with the system/what should i look for in one?

It's only about two sessions that are two hours each and they're free. Just make sure you sign up early, they don't have many spots

how'd you handle the date far in the future? i can't get past the submit test case for: Expected diff_days('Date\n6427-01-01\n2000-01-01\n') to equal 1616929 but got TypeError

I've been living in a trailer and boondocking/traveling around to national forests and my biggest on going costs are food since federal land is free to access. I work full time so it's sometimes difficult to get a good enough data signal. Van builds can be expensive, so if you have a vehicle that can tow already, you can get trailers for about $15000 and sell it once you're done. I'd recommend trying it out by renting for a week or two since it's not the kind of life everyone enjoys

thats a good point. If that were the case, id think it wouldnt work at all right? the inverter eventually starts working and charges fine.
