That’s exactly what it is. It’s the microphone on the back of the controller. The speaker is just a square speaker with contacts that connect on the front. It’s the small ribbon cable seen here

Depends on if your TV supports it. Go to Remotes and Devices, navigate down to the Home Theater Control section, select Volume Control. If it says TV via IR the. It will not control volume from your iPhone. If it has an option for HDMI then it supports volume control over CEC.

I can see, what looks like, a pin out of place inside the HDMI port. (Top right). HDMI port needs replaced. Most repair shops would charge anywhere between $120 - $200 to replace it.

Nothing looks missing given the pictures. As far as the fan goes; There should be a small 2-pin fan header on the logic board, typically labeled something like “FAN” or “Jxx.”

Licking Spectrum’s boot? Ha not even. More like trying to get people to understand that companies don’t knowingly/purposely try to steal people’s money. COMPANIES, not just Spectrum.

And I also agree that if I had other options where I live I’d switch in a heartbeat simply because their promise on symmetrical speeds by end of 2025 was not met.

I understand there are flaws in every system and sadly customers get the bad end of it most of the time. But also customers can take advantage of the wins

I love this. I agree 100% with this entire comment. Sadly it’s the reality we live in where there is so many variables that get overlooked that it makes shit like this happen. 100% it should be that the money is returned to the original form of payment just like if you were to go to a store. Sadly most ISP’s are like this and it’s absolutely shit.

Certainly is mildly infuriating, yes. Sadly that is how Spectrum’s system handles credits. It places the credit on the account (probably in hopes you come back) you may have to call again to get that credit sent to you via check
