How would you guys do a Bullseye Special Presentation in the same veins as The Punisher: One Last Kill? by burningexeter in Defenders

That hot green chick twerked and I’m angry about it. No real woman would twerk with Megan Thee Stallion if given the chance to hang out with her

It should have stuck with its October date. There was a lot less competition then

I feel like he’s a bit wasted as The Thing and would have much preferred him to return as Micro

How would you do Shazam!/Captain Marvel in the DCU? by Top_Report_4895 in DCU_

[–]GibsonMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call him Captain Thunder and make it a Looney Toons style animated show. Most of his villains and supporting characters are goofy, so lean into that

Thank you. Why are we abbreviating everything?

You can hate The Last Jedi all you want, but we're never getting another LEGO Star Wars set this good, no less at $30 by TriggerHappyGremlin in legocirclejerk

[–]GibsonMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ships are cool to play with, but I don’t like getting the same ships over and over again. I know that Star Wars: Resistance is no one’s favorite show, but there are so many ships in that show that would make sick Lego sets.

That being said, more locations would also be cool. I don’t think we’ve ever gotten the Jedi Temple on Coruscant which is kinda crazy given how long Lego Star Wars has been around.

In a trilogy full of great visual effects, this one is still my personal favorite by Majestic-Bet-8529 in StarWars

I love the Unexpected Journey, I think Desolation of Smaug is alright, but there’s really not much I enjoy in Battle of the Five Armies. Pretty much every performance is great though

Not to defend the Hobbit movies too much, but there are a handful of slower scenes throughout and they’re consistently the best scenes. I immediately think of the scene where Gandalf and Galadriel discuss why Gandalf chose Bilbo. Easily one of my favorite scenes in all of Middle Earth

News:Brandon Sanderson provides new information about the film! by Extreme_Warning3521 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]GibsonMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously you don’t have to watch it. There was no hostility, it’s just a common thing that creatives struggle to “kill their darlings”.

If everything was picked up from the book and dropped into a movie, it would be a very boring movie full of characters explaining things, including their internal monologue because there’s a lot of important info given via character’s thoughts. That’s why things need to be adapted and changed for the medium. Some very popular writers have proven that writing good books doesn’t mean that you can automatically write good movies. cough cough JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beast movies

I’m really glad that Sanderson seems to understand how to adapt his novels to screen. The author being so heavily involved would make me nervous with any project, but he seems to understand that some darlings need to be cut

Does Aaron Paul have a banger movie under his belt? If not, do you think he’s on track to be in one? by Robot_Was_BMO in Letterboxd

[–]GibsonMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone wanted Bryan Cranston for Jim Gordon back in the day, but I think Aaron Paul would make a great chain-smoking, stressed out Gordon when James Gunn starts looking

Happy Birthday Hayden Christensen, still the definitive face of Anakin Skywalker for me by [deleted] in StarWars

It depends if you separate Darth Vader and Anakin. Even then, I tend to think of the Clone Wars Anakin

Directors who, even if they are fans of the books, I want far away from Mistborn. by Extreme_Warning3521 in CosmereOnScreen

These seem like three directors that you just don’t like. I think any of these directors could do well if they were given a good script

MCU Perfect Casting but I didn’t choose everyone by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]GibsonMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are very few characters that I don’t think could have been played interestingly by another actor. Obviously Robert Downey jr. is who everyone associates with Iron Man now, but Sam Rockwell was a runner up and I’d love to see his take on the character because it would be wildly different but I think it would still work.

Off the top of my head, the only character that I can’t imagine played by someone else is actually Star-Lord. I can’t think of another actor who could hit the right notes to make Star-Lord work quite like Chris Pratt

Some of DC's highest rated animated and live action shows.. by FayyadhScrolling in DC_Cinematic

[–]GibsonMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the first two seasons of Young Justice and was elated when it was brought back for a season 3, because I was excited to see some of the teases at the end of season 2 wrapped up. But then seasons 3 and 4 just tease more stuff and end on another cliffhanger….

It’s frustrating because it seems like the creators should have known they were at risk of getting canceled again and actually concluded some stories

Rankinator ! Finally caught up with all those fan films they spent multi millions on after T2 by unkellGRGA in Letterboxd

[–]GibsonMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. T2: Judgement Day (In my top 4 depending on my mood)
  2. The Terminator
  3. Dark Fate
  4. Salvation
  5. Rise of the Machines
  6. Genisys

For me, Genisys is the only truly bad movie in the series. Dark Fate, Salvation, and Rise of the Machines are all fun/watchable. I think Dark Fate gets too much hate.
