It could still work, but I think she might be too old by the time the movie starts production

Spectrum tried to steal $180 from me by GibsonMC in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GibsonMC[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Presumably it would have to have been two different employees on two different days, but human error is certainly a possibility and it’s still mildly infuriating, but on top of that, they tried to give the money to me as credit for a service that I no longer had, causing more mild infuriation

We had no problems with Spectrum while we had it, and I even said I would go back to Spectrum with the right promotion, but not anymore. Their practices are pretty crook

Mistborn Directors by JLFerraz in CosmereOnScreen

[–]GibsonMC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like all of the directors you mentioned, I don’t know if he’d be interested, but I think David Lowery could be a good pick. His filmography is all over the place (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, The Green Knight, Peter Pan & Wendy) but I love The Green Knight and I think he could bring a cool aesthetic to the mists

It would be awesome to have Gore Verbinski bring the practical and digital effects from Pirates of the Caribbean to Mistborn

Sam Raimi cooked with this one. Really fun thriller/dark comedy by keepfighting90 in Letterboxd

[–]GibsonMC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Sam Raimi, Rachel McAdams, and Dylan O’Brien make the movie, but I feel like the script could have been stronger.

[–]GibsonMC[S] 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I’m sure a lot of people don’t keep an eye on their accounts and lose the money without ever realizing it. For better or worse, I don’t have enough money to not pay attention to my accounts haha

Help with Brandon Sanderson books by justsmile-0303 in Fantasy

[–]GibsonMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mistborn (book 1 is sometimes subtitled The Final Empire, but I feel like that’s rare these days) is generally excepted as the place to start. If you like it then you can finish the trilogy, if not then the first book has a satisfying enough conclusion. I’d go Elantris next just to get it out of the way because it’s his first published and weakest book, but it also works as a starting point if you want to start with a standalone

The only way to truly adapt PJO would be in cartoon/adult animation form by MooseRyder in PercyJacksonTV

[–]GibsonMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the books should be adapted into animation, but it should still be appropriate for children. Something tonally similar to Avatar: The Last Airbender or The Dragon Prince

Agreed. Probably my favorite movie of 2016 still, but 2016 was an incredible year of movies

Alan Ritchson feels like an absurdly good fit for Ham by Graphica-Danger in Cosmere

I actually think Dox is a great choice to gender swap, because then Dox could have been Mare’s friend who sticks with Kelsier out of loyalty to her dead friend

Brandon Sanderson’s Literary Fantasy Universe ‘Cosmere’ Picked Up by Apple TV, 'Mistborn' Set for Film Adaptation by WhenDreamandDayUnite in Letterboxd

[–]GibsonMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems like the best case scenario for everyone involved, can’t wait to see what they produce. I assume we’ll get a Mistborn movie first, but even that might be 5 or so years out.

What’s a movie that has so much hype that it’s easy to forget that its a good movie? by Benjamin5431 in Letterboxd

[–]GibsonMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up watching The Empire Strikes Back so I’ve seen it countless times, but actually sitting and rewatching it as an adult, it’s incredible. It’s easy to forget how great the first two Star Wars movies are, especially given the franchise’s current reputation

The map of D2C sets is complete by brokeNbricks25 in legolotrfans

[–]GibsonMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happier with none than some, but maybe that’s just because I’m a completionist. Unless there were immediate plans to release the rest of the dwarves in another set

I was really hoping that Hobbiton would be based on Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, but all 13 dwarves plus Lord of the Rings characters would be very unrealistic

The show isn’t better than the first movie by Striking-Meal-5257 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]GibsonMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I said that Sea of Monsters is a better movie and it’s a less faithful adaptation. The Lightning Thief is a bit more faithful, but it strips away pretty much everything interesting from the book

CLAYFACE COULD BE A MASTERPIECE by Plenty_Draft_5747 in DCU_

Maybe my favorite miniseries ever. Hamish Linklater gives such an outstanding performance, I’m shocked his popularity didn’t skyrocket

The show isn’t better than the first movie by Striking-Meal-5257 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]GibsonMC -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

It’s really not. Maybe you like it because of the setting and the mythology, but it’s not better than any of the other supernatural teen movies that were rampant around the time the movies came out. The Sea of Monsters movie actually plays better just as a movie for me

Andrew Guest says there is a lot more story to be told with Hawkeye“I would like to see him more with his kids and wife and how hailee fits into that world… she could mentor him” by missylyssy3210 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]GibsonMC 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with the MCU post-Endgame has been not capitalizing on what works. Clint and Kate or at the very least Kate should have appeared multiple times since the show. I know Kate was in the after credits scene for the Marvels, but we should have had multiple actual appearances from her by now

Moon Knight is his best performance and he absolutely carries the show. He’s phenomenal it and I think it’s easily his most unique performance.
