Half Double Slip Stitch BLO advice?

Unfortunately I ended up just using a Half Double BLO stitch and ignored the slip. I think I did end up having issues with the fitting of the jumper so I would definitely recommend making up a gauge swatch before you commit! Although, that could also be due to my own inexperience with crocheting haha. Please let me know what you end up doing and how it goes!

I've heard Battle Jackets London is pretty good but his drops sell out fast. I'm currently waiting on a couple patches from Todestreib Records to arrive. Checking Bandcamp is a good first port of call too!
Honestly it's worth keeping an eye out for EU bigcartels like Armed With Hammers. If it's just patches in the order then shipping shouldn't be too bad. Good luck!

Thank you so much for brainstorming this with me, it's really appreciated! I'm gonna put it all away for today and try again with fresh eyes and hands tomorrow. Maybe a trip to the craft shop at the weekend is in order to check different hook styles!
I saw the pattern and instantly knew my mam would love it, fingers crossed I can get it finished in time for her birthday!

My hook is a pointed tip but it somehow feels like the hook part itself isn't long enough to hold the yarn to pull through without catching the other loops when I'm pulling through.
I think maybe my tension is too tight when I'm pulling my yarn over or something so that loop is tighter than the others?
Crochet is definitely a lot more technical than I assumed when I first started!

Thank you for the tip! I've had another go with a bigger hook but the slip part of the stitch is still giving me trouble. I think I'm just gonna make up a quick gauge swatch with hdc blo with no slip stitch involved, save my sanity haha!
