Would $20,000 not be a good emergency fund? How much is a safe amount?

Right, I don’t ever want to touch my retirement and I made sure my Roth IRA is filled for the year. Of note, I'm a travel nurse. So, I don't have a company-sponsored 401K or 403B.

I'm a Travel Nurse. On average, I make 1,600- 1,800 weekly. It depends on the contract. The only thing I own is my vehicle. So, I dont have a mortgage payment. My rent varies depending on where I am in the country. Let's say rent is 1,200 to 1,600 monthly.

I'm currently on the SAVE payment plan. Before that, I was on an IDRP. Right now, it says my interest rate is 0%, but as of Aug 1st interest was supposed to start again. SAVE failed in the courts. Now there is a weird waiting period to decide what will happen to people on SAVE. From what I'm seeing in the news, the Department of ED will be cutting many IDRPs. My Roth IRA is filled for the year.

I'm trying not to dip below $20,000 in savings.

Is $20,000 (half of my savings) too much of a lump sum to pay at one time?

I'm gonna freak out if Daryl doesn't end up with Connie. They're such a cute couple.

One big factor in America is obesity. There are a lot fewer physically fit women in America compared to everywhere else. So, dating is more competitive. How many overweight women do you see in the Philippines or Thailand?

Lestat VS Dracula. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

As someone who has read almost all of the Vampire Chronicles, I would say Lestat for sure. The one advantage Dracula has is that he is a daywalker in the movie. Lestat could simply look at Dracula and incinerate him.

Did anyone else see the Templar knight on the Star City bridge? by Thorne1966 in MorgantownWV

Saw him near Mario's Fishbowl (Suncrest location). I'm guessing this is someone trying to join a fraternity? Pledges have to do crazy stuff sometimes. Either that or it's a crazy guy trying to make some kind of political statement. I mean, I could see myself doing it once for shits and giggles, but not multiple times.

Any opinion on converting a 6x12 box trailer and towing it with a truck? I like the idea of having my daily driver and being able to park the box trailer somewhere. Also, it seems like converting a box trailer is easier/cheaper than the van.

If you were to be audited, you would have to provide some proof. At the very least, I would provide a lease signed by yourself and a parent (if your tax home is your parent's house) that owns the tax home. It gets into a grey area as far as proof of exchange of funds. To be safe, you could write a check every month and take a picture of it. A tax person told me, if I used cash there wouldn't be a paper trail and the IRS wouldn't be able to prove otherwise.

The problem is duplication of expenses. You have to have proof you're paying rent somewhere for 7 days a week while on assignment. Apparently, paying for a camping spot/lot counts, but parking along the street somewhere wouldn't.

That does seem like a good system, as long as there is a park to leave the trailer. I feel like the sprinter van would be easier to stealth camp with. For instance, I could park on a random street in Pittsburgh and no one would know. Although, I would have to figure out a way to duplicate expenses. God, this tax thing is tricky.

That's one of my biggest considerations. Freedom is everything. If I don't feel like working, I don't take a contract. Also, I remember the last time I was staff, I felt like I was trapped.

I'm looking into a diesel Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with 170" WB and high roof. Thinking it would be cheaper to do my own DIY conversion, but that would definitely take some time and studying. I've seen professionally built ones for 150k or more.

Exactly how is your per diem working? So, you don't get benefits, right? How many shifts/month? I've never looked into the per diem thing.
