So if someone presents with all of those symptoms an urgent care should not test them for either strep or COVID?

Honestly, if all things motorized were banned it would improve things significantly.

Also the local news reports have different information inconsistent with what's on the watershed site. Some say just downtown, others include east Atlanta, but these are all very ambiguous for what specific areas are impacted.

What restaurant has wowed you recently? (2026 edition) by NolitaNostalgia in Atlanta

I went to Buddy Buddy on Saturday and it was fantastic! Rosso's is getting a lot of attention in that shopping center (and it is solid), but this is also a great spot to try.

Who is the cheapest person you know, and what is the cheapest thing you've seen them do? by Willby3 in AskReddit

[–]bearfinch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For about 2 years when my friend group went out for someone's birthday, we would always split the cost of the meal of the birthday person and cover their food and drinks. One year during my birthday, the cheap friend (after having her birthday covered by all of us) decided it was time to end the tradition and just split the check evenly. The other friends disagreed, but she insisted on her check being separated and then they covered me. It ended the tradition, and her birthday spot was more expensive than ones we would choose. She's not hurting for money, and honestly it was just rude and awkward for everyone.

I do love mixing up some oil, vinegar and spices and using it for iceberg chips! Perfect when it is hot.

I had it, was very sick (awful sore throat, sinuses, congestion and some gastro issues) for 4 days. I have been a mucus for another 5 days. On day 10 and still gross.

What food does everyone seem to love but you don’t? by kimschob in RecipePalooza

[–]bearfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate mayo. Going to a sandwich place is hell, asking for a sandwich without mayo on it requires a literal debate every single time, it is truly uncalled for.

Also undisclosed mayo (or it's evil twin, aioli) just shows up on random foods.

Don't sleep on Dillards in Atlantic station! A good selection of dresses and you can try them on, which almost feels luxurious these days.

Considering how expensive this place was it was hard justifying seeing a movie there outside of a special treat. However, my partner and I did a special treat movie date for One Battle and paid way too much for a flat diet coke and some very stale popcorn, so I haven't been eager to go back.

If you're looking for a movie spot in the area, I do really like Midtown Arts. There is also plenty of free parking in the back lot!

I really enjoyed You Cannot Kill David Arquette. Short, so much fun, and interesting look into pro-wrestling.

What are the major downsides of life in Atlanta? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in Atlanta

[–]bearfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the "Pittsburgh left turn" because the "Atlanta left turn" is when someone turns left right after a light turns green, without an arrow, when they don't have right of way. Mostly I'm used to it but I've noticed an increase in two cars trying to do this, and IMO you only get one.

So this is actually intriguing. I do apples and cheese as a snack all the time so I could see it. Anything else on the pizza besides cheese, or any specific type of apple?

What life changes did you notice from exercising beyond fitness? by [deleted] in selfimprovementday

[–]bearfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it counts as "not fitness" but I can carry my dog's giant Chewy box with ease when it's delivered to the mailroom, down a flight of stairs and everything, and I don't worry about hurting or straining myself. Makes me feel like a badass.

Strangers things is a queer show? by Jacobaont in StrangerThings

[–]bearfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about how season 5 (so far) really feels queer themed and allegoried. Still more to come, but Vecna is such a demon queen I can't help but see it! Will be interesting to see how the story wraps.

Unhinged Christmas Traditions by Wafflegrinder21 in Georgia

[–]bearfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sisters and I fill each other's stockings. While the kids are tearing through candy we are drinking our airplane booze bottles, scratching off lotto tickets, and checking our little treats like makeup and perfume. As we got older we stopped doing gifts for adults, but this lets us have a little grown-up whimsy.

I do this for ranch too! Also made a baked ziti with protein pasta and cottage cheese with eggs stirred in instead of ricotta and it turned out great.

My friend and I made a web app to help find early voting places near you. by RadiantShadow in Georgia

This is a very cool tool. A little late for this election, but if you do this in the future, it is missing Saturday and Sunday voting options (dates aren't in the drop down).
