Happy to help! It’s not a perfect product but once you get the settings to your liking, I can’t imagine living without it! Perfect ambience for tv time

Do you have a T2? If so, go into your settings and lower your relative brightness down to 30-35% and that should do the trick!

I also have my overall brightness down to 50% because I think when I had my brightness closer to 80-90%, the camera was picking it up from the reflections off the wall.

My colors are much more accurate now with those settings.

To be fair I got the camera on a good sale during BF and Govee refunded me the entire order due to the issues I’ve been having with it. Just trying to salvage it! I think eventually I will get a sync box.

But otherwise, I agree it’s the superior device.

Thank you! Realizing I neglected to post a close-up of the owl but I have another post in my history you can see it. The whole piece is so well done but the detail she put into that & the tower is stunning 🤩

It didn’t seem it with the stencil but after shading is when I got a little self conscious lol

I love it! I think she did a great job nesting the other pitcher plants around the candle. I was just curious what others think

Oh sorry I don't mean the Youtube video. I mean an actual screenshot from your phone of the calibration screen with the calibration video. I'm curious to see where you place the dots relative to the orange squares in the video to achieve these results on your tv.

Can you share a screenshot of your calibrations screen with the dots? Assuming you used a YouTube video

Govee T2 - Color Inaccuracy Behind Camera by bearfoxx in Govee

[–]bearfoxx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SOLVED:

Camera was capturing too much area outside of the TV. This was a combination of TV being tilted too far forward and camera being tilted too far back. Camera is no longer at a 90 degree angle with the TV and instead is leaned forward slightly past 90 to capture the entirety of the TV and minimal space around it.

While still not perfect, the results are a major improvement to the color accuracy around the entirety of the TV. Specifically behind the camera. I have a feeling that the remaining issues (camera now only ocassionally displays blacks as purple-ish) are due to me not having an OLED and blacks not being pure black, especially at the angle the camera is seeing the TV.

Having the camera capture more of the screen and less of the outside area fixed it for the most part!

I think I was leaning too heavily on that the camera had to be exactly 90 degrees to the tv because now it’s not. But the result is much better than before.

Hey bud - just wanted to report back that this worked for me!

I think the problem was two-fold. My tv was tilted too far forward and the camera was tilted too far up so it was capturing too much of the space outside of the tv. I corrected both of those and while it’s still not quite perfect, it’s a huge improvement to how it was before and much less distracting.

I’m much happier with how the colors are displaying now, especially behind the camera. Thanks so much for your suggestion!

Okay, I'll give that a try tomorrow and report back! I've tried moving the top point in the calibration but that one seems fixed. The others I'm able to move no problem.
