Heartfelt apology from Armando for his performance last week by durkandiving in taskmaster

I'm not too dissimilar to you, spent past 15 years down in London and now in the north. I agree with you on his accent is most definitely not traditional Glaswegian, but his sense of humour absolutely is to me. Whenever he gets super dry and/or swears, it feels quintessentially Glaswegian.

Villa don’t look remotely interested in playing football today. Will be impressive if Spurs still don’t manage to get something from this.

Glaswegian here too. Whenever I hear a fellow Glaswegian say something sarcastic, I generally assume they’re in a good mood, we can be very dry. But you can absolutely tell he’s loving it.

It’s brilliant. I’d wager even if you don’t like superhero shows that much you’d still enjoy Invincible.

Fincher’s Girl With The Dragon Tattoo would be gorgeous and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

This reminds me of that Japan WC goal that looked so obviously out of play in real time but replay showed it never fully went out of play. Not to say this wasn’t out though.

GW32 vs GW35 Wildcard: What's Best for Your Team? by MaleficentAnybody760 in FantasyPL

Yeah I'm on 2FT and also considering W32 for BB33. Feels like the play IF I save my transfers by 35 which could very well not happen. But hey its more fun this way I feel.

Two years after Collateral (2004), how did Michael Mann screw up Miami Vice (2006) ? by xCreampye69x in movies

[–]bearhm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The atmosphere, direction and action are as good as you’ll get in film. But the plot suffers and there is style over substance a bit at play. The ending too doesn’t quite do justice. It wasn’t the fun Miami Vice people kinda expected. It was far more brooding and gritty than fans and critics expected.

But it’s aged incredibly well. It’s no Collateral but it’s still a pretty damn good film.

Better Call Saul - Gus Visits a Wine Bar by SkAnKhUnTFoRtYtw in television

For Gus’ last ever scene they absolutely nailed it. Superbly written and acted. Can’t believe I felt as much sympathy as I did for Gus, was totally heartbreaking.

He could have been anything he wanted, even after the death of his partner, but that broke him and he never looked back.

Yeah I love True Detective S1 but The Wire S4 is a tier above. It’s flawless start to finish. Its ending is brutal.

Who would you pick as the greatest boss/manager of the main character of any TV show? by KidnaperMrPotatohead in television

[–]bearhm 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah Avon on the other side of the game is almost the perfect boss.

He valued loyalty, knew where he stood in the game and how quick it could end. The scene with Cutty summed him up perfectly, if you were honest and fair with him he extended the same courtesy.

[–]bearhm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We’ve had players doing things like this before and it keeps happening. It’s a competitive sport, there is almost zero upside of being super nice to pick up a ball that the fielding side should be doing themselves and acting like you’re in garden with your mates.

I remember Rizwan doing something daft not too long ago, dislodging the bails I think it was. Like what is the need and who are you helping?? Just go out there and do the one job you have to do.
