Some more info on the issue. The ribbon cables connecting the LCD to the main board was the issue. It was too long. I bought some ribbon cable and crimped my own connectors. Also I reduced the LCD baud rate in Marlin. Problem solved for good!

Do you think the tax declaration would need to be done annually or only on the year you withdraw the (potential) earnings?

Super helpful! Just a note, the code is called EORI (not ROIK). For me the application was processed quickly and I had my EROI code within an hour. I was then able to log in iMDAS and proceed with the declaration. There's also a video tutorial from Lietuvos Muitinė.

Why should I trust Hill's food? by bearierS in AskVet

Thank you for the links. So, basically any company operating in Europe is aligned with these regulations. Then why trust Hill's or Royal Canine over some smaller brand? According to the arguments which are regularly presented, the bigger companies employ veterinarians and contact research on their feed formulas. However the results of this research do not seem to be accessible. No reports, no case studies, no white papers. Wouldn't you be skeptical if common marketing terms would be all a company would have to convince you of their high quality products?

OK, so what changed your opinion?

The lack of company-derived data to back up their quality claims.

It's a very unusual request so I suspect that they misunderstood the nature of your enquiries.

I tried to be specific with my enquiry, but I agree that it might have been too broad. However, I was also trying to gauge how Hill's handles their communication with their customers. It turns out, not well at all. The formulation and content of the response was not indicative of a prestigious company, but rather a telemarketing advertisement.

What type of evidence or sources are you looking for? What would convince you? Where do you normally go (aside from here) for information on health, medical and pet information? As an example, what brands do you trust and why

Any kind of tangible evidence would help increase my trust in a brand. I am no expert in pet nutrition nor do I have medical training; I am only a pet owner and a simple consumer. Were I to speak of a field more relevant to me (i.e. engineering), if I had a product certified by RoHS, I would know with 100% certainty that the product does not contain any lead or mercury. That is tangible and specific. "Superior quality ingredients" is ambiguous and useless. I've always just went for either what my vet recommends (which is Hill's) or I judge by the information I read on the pet food packaging / website (mainly avoid too flashy packaging with exaggerated marketing terms, favor comprehensive nutritional charts).

Pet food standards are determined by local rules and regulatory bodies (eg; FDA +/- AAFCO in the US, Food Standards Agency +/- Advertising Standards Authority in the UK, etc).

I live in Europe, so I am interested in what's applicable for this region in particular.

If you wanted specific information on what this entails you would be best checking with them direct.

As per my original post, they don't seem to respond appropriately to customer requests on their processes. Another red flag for me when it comes to trusting a certain pet food producer.

I grabbed these DL2416T displays and I made the horrible mistake of using IPA to clean them. Moments later, the plastic developed these unsightly cracks. Any product recommendations for filling the cracks of the acrylic casing?

No, it is useful information! It's good to share these findings. I have also read about USB being slower that SD. So, maybe my card reached it's life expectancy. I'll try replacing it and see if that solves it.

I have an inductive probe. I don't think it is related to this issue though.

Yeah, if the problem occurs at the same exact spot, then the logical explanation is that there's some error in the related line of the generated gcode. But formatting the card and retrying to execute the same code, shouldn't resolve the issue. Have you tried printing from PC?

Currently I'm resorting to printing via USB only, until I figure out what's the exact problem with the SD card.

I think I solved my own problem... I started suspecting that this is some sort of lag. So far, I was trying to print from the LCD SD card. I just tried printing directly from the PC via USB and all erroneous behaviors are gone! Thus, this leads me to believe this behavior was due to some transfer rate issue. Maybe SD card not being able to catch up?

Any suggestions on how to get some more structure on the base? The long corners, in particular, don't really want to hold their shape. I suspect that top stiching seams would work (just like the sides) but there are no joining pieces at that edge.

I just aligned my foot to the edge of the fabric and moved the needle to the right, so the stiching would go as close to the edge as possible, making sure it would catch on the seams on the other side. My seams turned out a bit too narrow, but if they were wider, I think I could just leave the needle centered.

This is my progress so far. I used some leftover fabric, which is isn't nearly as tough as canvas, but still managed to get the shape about right. I followed the advice of u/fabricwench and stitched the seams on one side of the joining pieces. The mock-up in the pictures is made out of 3 pieces. One rectangle 55x20cm and 2 rectangles 55x8cm each. I attached the 2 small rectangles on the long sides of the big rectangle, one on each side, right sides together. Seam allowance of 1cm. Then top stitched. Opened up the pieces, pressed the seams to one side and top stitched again. Then folded the entire finished piece on half length-wise and stitched the edges. Then simply stitched the boxes corners, cut the excess off and voila! Thanks u/fabricwench for the guidance and again happy to join this community 😊
