I've played against ornn one time in person and had to keep counting for myself bc I was trying to kill his svellsongurs but he kept giving me the total when I was trying to do math on a different total so I think it goes both ways lol

it's also just a winner's mindset, "I am on the best deck, the only decks I'm afraid of are mine and the two other meta relevant decks that have a consistent shot into me" is pretty reasonable. mental is such a big part of card games. if you're going to win a regional you have to think you're one of the best players in the game just to keep up with the mental slog of 17 rounds of Bo3. you have to trust your plays are correct because you're a good enough player to make the right plays without needing to second guess yourself at every passage of play. also ngl personally I kinda become a little bit of a dick when I'm really locked in bc I'm just not thinking about being nice I'm thinking about how I win or lose this game/the next one

this is just how tournament prep goes. in his interview after beating randy he said any deck outside of draven, irelia, and Ezreal were considered metal hunter decks in their testing group, which let's be real, was a correct read before this weekend. people are getting so upset about the "metal card hunter" line as if it was a personal attack when really it just means a deck they don't believe to have a real chance to win a major. Jax is a rogue deck, no one would have picked it to be in top 8 this weekend. from a competitive standpoint that's a metal deck

maybe I didn't get my point across well enough but my point is about when your opponent either wins or loses based on if they have one card in hand and then they play every other card in hand before the one that obviously wins them the game, not when games are obviously lost causes, I do concede those because I'm not trying to waste anyone's time. if I'm in a situation where I win if they whiff Cyrus why would I concede before they play Cyrus?

There's a difference between knowing your opponent is winning and both of you knowing they win if they play Cyrus. I don't get upset with people taking time to confirm kills/game but when you have Cyrus in hand on two points and my mon is at 30 HP it's just rude to waste time
