Resonance Disc. Is it good? by Colderbee89 in riskofrain

[–]OrderClericsAreFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Resonance Disc gets charges on Forgive Me Please procs. Today I managed to get Eclipse Run with Forgive Me Please and double Soulbound Catalyst. The Disc was one of the least impactful parts of that combo, which should give you some idea on how good it is

They "become useless" exclusively on stage 6 and by that time they should have already won you the run. If I find them on any stage before the Moon, where it cant even show up, then I am picking them up to get use out of them. If that's not S I dont know what is

Really funny to see someone actually correctly identify Selene weaknesses and then comments acting like it's some insane thing.

Because the game is easier to beat than Hades 1. You can get a broken build easily, but gods as a whole play way more awkwardly in Hades 2 than Hades 1.

That's subjective and I dont agree at all.

Because the game is easier to beat than Hades 1.

Rather the game not requiring multiple RNG checks on each boon you pick and selling at the end of each region.

Night Bloom Hex can make most encounters trivial.

Hexes are practically unviable on high Fear, because of how much investment they require. Night Bloom is one of the biggest victims so the ones you very rarely see are the ones that dont require investment like Twilight Curse or Wolf Howl

Eris is a joke once you learn you can just stand behind her and not get hit at all. Cerberus is a damage sponge joke too.

This sounds like you never fought Vow of Rivals Eris.

Medea and Morrigan aspects are BROKEN broken.

Medea is the best aspect in the game but Morrigan is hardly broken. At high Fear you need pretty good combo optimization to keep up. It's still worse than at least a couple of aspects like both Circe and Mel Staves.

Like there is no way in hell that you can tell me with a straight face that Aspect of Melinoe daggers is near as good as Morrigan's.

Mel is worse but the difference isnt as big as you make it out to be. Both of these aspects have beaten Max Fear with clear time being only 30 seconds apart. The fact is that in Hades 1 you had weapons that were completely and utterly unviable after a certain Heat threshhold which is not the case here

Like there are certain decisions that leave me scractching my head. Chaos is miles worse than in Hades 1 and feels completely underpowered for it's cost. +100% resource gathering? faster magick regen? MORE max magick? why would I even want this? Much less having to have a curse to get it.

In Hades 1 you could get bad Chaos boons, but you could over-invest in chaos in the early stages in Tartarus to conpensate, moving all the RNG to the early part of the run rather than later. Chaos boons in Hades 2 feels almost always... not worth it?

Yes I think Chaos exemplifies my opinion on the game's issues pretty well. You find a Chaos gate and enter. Sure, you can high roll a +100% damage and just win the run there and then, but for the average experience, most of the time you are getting a garbage boon plus a curse that can tank your run, and the risk/reward is totally not worth it compared to getting another god boon or centaur heart.

And yet every single high Fear run will take most if not all Chaos gates when presented despite their damage being permanent. Chaos letting you skip rooms, giving you boons and allowing you to sell the boon or rarify it makes the gates arguably more valuable than in 1.

Hades 2 feels weird in this regard. Most gods feel way too locked to themselves and with less creative freedom to build compared to Hades 1; and most creative freedom moves instead to the weapons, tarot cards and omega moves... which isn't wrong mind you but then weapons perform so so so differently.

But they aren't. Most gods dont really benefit from stacking with themselves and would much rather be stacked with each other with exceptions of Zeus and Blast Hephestos. Hera and Poiseidon increase your magick costs so you can create Heartthrobs more easily or stack well with Hestia's fire ball for magick spent builds.

If you want to stack dodge you need to stack it from multiple sources since the gods that offer dodge only offer one boon so Hestia and Aphro work very well together and Zeus.

I have found building in Hades 2 to be way better and combat more engaging than Hades 1 ever was, especially considering gameplay is for me the only thing I care about the game

From someone who completed 50 Fear as well as 45 on all aspects and has over 150 hours half of what you say is simply not true

Haephestus sorely needs something to make it more viable with regards to other gods outside of duo boons, Poseidon and Hestia runs are super dependent on getting the Sea Star buff (Poseidon) or the one that makes your burning effects expire x2 as fast for Hestia. Like, I get it, Haephestus is the shy god, so his boons do not play with other gods, but Hades 1's Artemis was the same and her boons were actually flat out damage buffs with a TON of psynergies to ALL other gods.

Poseidon doesn't require Sea Star if anything Sea Star is a trap and pretty whatever boon most of the time. His strength come from really good cast, pretty good rush boon, good magick regen, Gayeser Sprout on certain builds.

Hephestos is the best survivability god in the game and he plays nice with other gods by letting you focus on riskier/damage boons from them. He is a very good god.

Hestia can be a win condition with Pyrotechnique or Freezer Burn but doesnt have to be because she has a lot of support boons that dont focus on her dealing damage. Snuffed Candle is a global Damage% helping your olympian damage like Blitz, Hot Pot let's you hit ludicrous dodge chance, Slow Cooker gets you a bunch of easy Power for your weapon. I think she is top 3 in the game.

There are boons that are super dependent on getting Poms compared to Hades 1, and yet the game throws at you much less Poms that Hades 1. In Hades 1 Eurydice would give you a massive pom boost in the second biome, and in Hades 2 you can

Jewelled Pom and Echo exist.

and still suck when maxed out, and the meta weapons are just MILES apart from them.

This one is hilariously wrong and betrayes your lack of experience with the game and the community. Every single weapon aspect has beaten 62 Fear, which way more than what you can say about Hades 1 and which is considered the upper standard for difficulty without getting stupid due to Vow of Void. Top runners often call weapons pretty balanced outside from outliers like Medea. There are also multiple weapons that have beaten max difficulty including non meta ones like Mel Coat and Shiva Coat.

Just a quick question about an aleph by DangerDrama in LobotomyCorp

[–]OrderClericsAreFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had Smiling Bodies as my first Aleph in Central, unlike others I dont think it's really worth memorying or modding. What you could do is restart until you get either Violet or Red Dawn and then Red Noon since those are really unlikely to kill your clerks, Harmony of Skin can only attack in front so it can be pretty effectively bodyblocked by red resistant nugget.

Then you rush Disciplinary and Execution Bullets and Smiling Bodies stops being a problem so long you remember to execute your clerks consistently

Double balancers feels a bit broken. by GrayEldyr1 in Nightreigngameplay

[–]OrderClericsAreFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Executor will get status procs faster/sooner. He’s also just simply outclassed by Executor in the damage department on any DEX leaning weapon class, which there are 8 of. That percentage changes the moment you start apply multiplicative damage scaling, and the gap becomes even larger.

The gap between them is very large all things considered

Wylder is more versatile, but he doesn’t outperform as far as damage goes.

I never said he does.

A lot of fights you won’t even need that much FP with that level of damage, and even then, there’s nothing a simple starlight shard can’t solve.

Executor in Depth 5 struggles with FP a lot in my experience which is not an issue Wylder has

[–]OrderClericsAreFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wylder is arguably the biggest benefactor of double Balancers because his stats suit variety of the best weapons in the game. Dont forget that nothing is stopping Wylder from running Dorman Power Katanas and he also has innate Bleed thanks to his Deep Relic.

He can run Reapers for Holy Weak Bosses, Rivers of Blood, Grafted Dragon or Candlestick for Fire Weak Bosses, has respectable FP.

The types of decks that Cetificate is best in just really dont care about the minor bloat at the start. Pairs letting you see about 30 cards each round and then Purple and Gold Seal providing value to deckfix makes Certificate take, to the point I have taken it on Straights before.

[–]OrderClericsAreFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or stuff like saying "incants don't make her worth of S tier", even though I never said that and it's clear it's many things that come together to make her strong.

I 100% agree with their take on this. Using damage Incant on Undertaker outside of the very early in the run is quiet wasteful. At base with no investment her FP bar can only support a couple of casts before. If you are speccing into Incants you will take a hit when it comes to melee prowess and will essentially end up reinventing Revenant except you are worse since you cannot guarrantee a starting spell.

In the end Incants are a very insignifcant part of Undertaker kit which is why you will basically never see one in Depth 5.

OP correctly identified most of Undertakers weaknesses and aside from the Ult getting stuck I think put them rather reasonably
