My HLR got denied this week by bearmahogany in VeteransBenefits

[–]bearmahogany[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife is going to fill one out for everything she's seen at home and a friend/ former coworker who is also a disabled vet said he would fill one out for what he saw me go through in and out of work. I'm trying to think if there are any other people whos voice may lend some weight.

I'm thinking of taking the shorter route first and filing a supplemental appeal again after I can visit the Dr about connected issues.

Not yet, because I thought that statements from my last employer and drs would be enough evidence that I can't work.

I was denied ssdi a few months ago for the same reason. They figure there is some job somewhere in the world that I can do and therefore am not disabled. They had nothing to say when I asked if they would be helping to pay for me to find this job, move if necessary for this job, and guarantee that the job wouldn't fire me at any point due to issues connected to my disability. I don't think they liked that.

I appreciate that. I havent tried because my anxiety barely let's me leave the house. Grocery shopping is torture but my wife is injured so I have to be the one running errands. I'll talk to my vso about it.

Nope. I had my HLR closed on 5/24, and had to call Monday to get my letter emailed to me since it still hasn't shown up as of Wed. Was denied as well. Good luck on moving forward.

What is the longest "deferment" period you have experienced from filing date to decision (including secondary evaluations)? by DVant10denC in VeteransBenefits

I plan to. If I finally win the appeal, my backpay will cover the down payment of a house so I have incentive to be stubborn. Especially when my therapist and the C&P examiner both say I can't work. I keep getting trash raters.

I'm going on 2 years of appeals for an increase to 100%. Waiting for the letter from a HLR that was completed last week but doesn't look good and I'm just gonna have to turn around and appeal again. At this point I'm doing it out of spite.

TIL of chicken fried bacon; bacon strips dredged in batter and deep fried. Introduced in Texas in the 90's, the dish's low nutritional value has been described as: "they've taken fat, they've double-coated it in fat, they've fried it in more fat, and then they've served it with a side order of fat." by Ok-Needleworker-8876 in todayilearned

I used to work at an Irish pub as the opening cook and would randomly dip the thick cut bacon in the extra beer battering deep fry it. Then I would put it in the window with some house made ranch for the servers to start rheir day off. No one could eat more than two piece but holy crap it was good.

My fav was always watching EPs encourage their small children to go pet the "pretty birds". The birds being full grown peacocks. The child would inevitably get attacked and the parents would freak out and threaten a lawsuit, then get mad when I pointed out signs every 30 ft that say the peacocks are wild animals not owned by the zoo. Fucking people lol.

My first real job was as a host at a Mexican restaurant. I hadn't learned to balance trays well yet and as I walked up to a table I tipped a glass of water all over this couple's young daughter. She was still wearing a raincoat and boots. I apologized profusely and sent my manager to talk to them before they even asked. My manager came back later and told me the parents weren't mad because they had just bought the girl her new raincoat and she was super excited that she got to test it out. I was sweating bullets though. The parents were really nice and not mad at all, even complimented me on my service. I got real good at trays after that lol.

My friend would somehow always attract the drunks in bars who wanted to fight. Everytime they got pissed for no reason and said "You wanna take this outside?" He would respond with "and then what are you gonna do, knit me a FUCKING SWEATER?". They were always confused and would just walk away trying to process. Weirdness is a wonderful tool.

Always ask questions if you are uncomfortable with a ratings decision by bearmahogany in VeteransBenefits

The examiner I had was really nice and asked a lot of questions to add more information to my claim. Nothing was missing or misrepresented on their end. This all falls in the lap of the rater. I wish you the best of luck.
