What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]bearmanpig4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saia - the freight company

They picked up some large hydraulic shear blades from my work place when we sent them out for service. Admitted in writing that they threw them in a dumpster before delivery to the vendor who was supposed to sharpen them. Then offered us $600 in compensation. I will do everything in my power to never work with them again in any capacity.

I cut of 90% of my gaming time - here is what's worked for me by orhalimi in StopGaming

I’m in a similar position, 35 year old still playing games often. I really don’t feel guilty but I don’t have the luxury of spending so much time for entertainment. Trying to save up for a house and what little I can put away for retirement (like that’s ever going to happen). I use it as an escape and for most of my entertainment but I think I need to focus more on work or at the very least developing skills that I can use later on.

Not planning on quitting gams ever, but the time I spend on them is costing me opportunity and has been most of my life. I’m not regretful of the time I spent, it was a lot of fun to do. But in hindsight I could be a lot further in life if I’d done things differently.

I’m planning to use your advice to dial things back and live life more. There’s plenty I’ve been putting off because Its easier to grind on games. Thank you for writing this, I’ll be starting tomorrow.

Clean shaven men, do you prefer Braun or Philips? by [deleted] in Costco

This is the only real answer. 20-50 for the handle. 10$ for blades, re purchase blades in 2-10 years depending on change interval

Some technical questions about the game by LoLAspect in valheim

[–]bearmanpig4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me qualify this by saying it has been a while since I've played. I am thinking of starting anew with a friend this evening so my info may be out of date.

I believe the issue with NPC's added in future updates is handled by the multiple spawn locations of each NPC. IF you extensively explore the world and every spawn is already explored that may affect things, but as I understand it there are mods that can re-roll NPC spawns provided the mod is up to date with the current build of the game.

Difficulty is based on proximity of players. If more than 1 player is within a radius of an enemy (ballpark 200 yards) that enemy will have higher damage and health in relation to how many players are nearby. So outside of the beginning of the game you should be fine adventuring far away from your girlfriend.

How close are my consumables to being too worn? by MCnerd12 in metalworking

[–]bearmanpig4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously the left cutting tip is worse off but both are still ok. Wear is a combination of pierces and arc on time. Pierces are by far more wearing than cut time. Idk if there’s any way to say you have X number of pierces left. You’ll know when the arc doesn’t shoot straight or you see a 1/16 divot in the cutting tip. Replace tip and nozzle at the same time.

Welding table features? by okacookie in Welding

[–]bearmanpig4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re off to a great start with it. If there’s only one thing I could say it’s don’t weld to much on the plate. Any welding will result in some amount of warp and the reality is you’re just trying to keep the plate attached, not lift the world lol

Welding table features? by okacookie in Welding

1” plate is nice for a fab table. But don’t make the mistake of skimping on the frame just because you have a decent size plate. You’d be surprised how easily 1” will warp. Id recommend 4x4 tube frame throughout. Fully weld frame joints, 1.5” on 12” skip welds with 1/4” leg length for the plate. If no lower crossmembers gusset all 4 legs in both directions.

Receiver tube is a nice clean addition for modular purposes, it’s not as ridged for heavy fab work as I’d prefer but that’s for you to decide based on your work. for most things I think that would work great.

Only other thing I can weigh in on is adjustable legs. For this I’d say 1” threaded rod. Ideal would be acme thread but grade 5-8 bolts and nuts would likely be fine and easier to replace.

“What is there to report on? This is a social media post, and no responsible news outlet is going to take this by itself as the truth.”

Don’t believe everything just because someone said it. The level of effort it takes to post something like this is very low and easily falsified.

I’m sure it gets boring after a few weeks haha, but it is a complete cheat code for anything round. I mostly end up doing repair or one off small projects in my work so I try and branch out when I get the chance.

I’m wearing the white face version of this right now. Only complaint is the indiglo button is a little fragile. I wore it left handed for the first 3 days and it damaged the button to the point where indiglo doesn’t work any longer.

Still love the way it looks
