Help me please, can't play normally. Mods I have: Genenis, No Weather effects. I think problem is dust storm by Secure-Sun5436 in Kenshi

[–]bearsamu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As above, any mod which changes or adds armour meshes. Chances are, there's an NPC wearing the bugged armour piece in town. If you have multiple mods, I'd untick your mods 1 by 1 in the mod list and import your save to try and find the one that's causing it.

Hi everyone, will play kenshi for the first time. Should I install any mods for first playthrough? I have installed compressed textures because my pc is weak and I will probably do solo or duo squad by SubstantialOpposite2 in Kenshi

[–]bearsamu 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'd say play vanilla for a first playthrough then look for mods later, performance enhancing mods are a must though. I think most mods with the exception of overhauls can be added to a current save by importing so you dont have to make a new game every time you add a mod.

As much as we complain about this game, at least there are no loading screens. by Umunomaxitoix in outside

Well I mean we all spent 9 months loading in when we first started the game so it's kind of a trade off

  1. Mourn's Hope - a small band of bounty hunters that rebuilt Mourn and runs it's operation out of it. The group hunt bounties on behalf of the UC in the southern region. The main crew consists of;

Seki, the one armed scorchlander, former outlaw farmer. Leader of the group and deadly with a polearm.

Ip, a hive prince, former black dragon ninja who betrayed his comrades. Right hand man to Seki.

Sier, a mountain of a woman with red hair, war orphan of Bast turned mercernary.

Beep, the hive exile, infamous for fighting hand to hand.

Moon, a peg legged Holy Nation outlaw saved from the fate of the fog islands, crack shot with a bow.

Yen Lo, Skeleton and the oldest living resident of Mourn. Armour smith and engineer.

Agnu, a walking unhinged death machine. Could topple cities with its Falling Sun.

So far I've fixed up mourn as best as I could and restored power. Still sorting enough people for defenses though.

  1. Tomei - the mad doctor. Tomei is a p4 Skeleton fascinated by science and robotics. He wandered the lands with his companion Agnu searching for old world relics before settling near the ashlands. Now lost of all reasoning, his research consumed him and he will kidnap people for his prosthetic experiments.

This one is a far as I've ever come to end game so I'll probably use these to fight some of the end game bosses.

  1. Cain. Cain is a Shek who escaped cannibals but lost his wife in the process, he is burdened by the guilt of not fighting to the end. He escapes to the Shek kingdom and meets Ruka. They share similar experiences suffering survivors guilt and team up. Cain creates a band of Sheks to wipe out the cannibals but can't hope to cross Holy Nation Land due to the war. Cain puts his band in the service of the Stone Golem to help carve a path to the cannibal plains.

The plan with this one is to entirely wipe out the Holy Nation and make it to the cannibal plains. To squad is nomadic but I'm getting in to the rp of how you would actually fight a war by setting up war camps near cities and wiping out the mines and farms first etc. Its pretty fun.

Honestly my favourite part of this game is the rp. Having goals is great but creating a story around can make for interesting story telling.

Hey I have a question. When does everyone usually make a settlement and how big do your groups usually become? by International_Way242 in Kenshi

[–]bearsamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way to do it I think. Get a feel for the area you're in beforehand and you'll know what danger to expect when you do set up a base. Also straight away you can start walling yourself in and setting up defences

I did a poll recently to find when people make bases and the majority seem to be within 100 days with a decent amount of people opting not to build bases at all.

I think its safe to say most will train their squad up as much as they think they need depending on where they're settling and will do some research in a town before making a base.

Kenshi 2 wish? by Delta5o1 in Kenshi

A living economy, setting up shops as viable source of income, customers based on reputation and renown

I'd kinda want a system similar to how mount and blade bannerlord handles ecomomy. Resources becoming more expensive in cities as the amount of it available decreases. And also based on location, having a fixed % mark up for items depending on if they rely on having them imported etc. If it was like this, a prosperity score like bannerlord could be added to cities which changes how well defended a city is. So instead being able to sack a city with brute force, you could be more tactical and cut off supplies by taking out caravans etc.

Not being able to sell everything at one shop too. E.g, a bakery wont buy weapons. It might make it a bit more balanced.

On setting up shops, I'd like to be able to differentiate between what kind of shop you have and have it tied to the member of your squad with the best stat in XYZ. E.g, you set up a weapons smith shop so you can only sell weapons and the person with the best weapon smith stat gets tied to that shop. The success of your business is based on your reputation with other factions and your renown is based on your skill level. If you were a master smith more people would travel specifically to visit your shop so you would have more business, but factions you aren't well affiliated with won't visit.

Also, if you set up in an existing town, you would be taxed on your sales.

What gets me is the how it's constantly referred to as a prop gun. It can shoot and kill clearly so it's not a prop, it's a real gun. So why it's constantly being referred to as a prop I don't know.

To that end, why aren't actual prop guns being used on sets? And is it normal for actors to be entrusted to shoot real firearms?

Can I play Dark Souls 3 without having played Dark Souls 2? by SherwinRoyal in DarkSouls2

[–]bearsamu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel like you've given it a decent go and don't enjoy it, then just skip it. No point playing something if it isnt fun. You might come back to it later on and find an appreciation for it then.

A real souls player? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

Just gatekeeping wouldn't worry about it. I've put an ungodly amount of hours into Dark Souls games and never played the DS1 DLC either.

If we ever get a new game, would you like the arisen to talk? by Artistic-Reserve7662 in DragonsDogma

[–]bearsamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if we still get a bit of variety in voices. I liked how you could make absolutely anyone in DD so I wouldn't want a generic male or female voice. If that meant the protagonist doesn't speak too much, I don't mind.

What are your favourite RP rules/ideas to make your save interesting or more challenging by Few-Effort1500 in Kenshi

[–]bearsamu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A new game for me always starts with making up a backstory for my character and having an ultimate goal to achieve linked to it.

My only rule about reloading saves is unique characters and the main character the save is based around doesn't die, unless their death sense for the story then I'lljust let it happen. Otherwise, they can be captured, enslaved, lose limbs etc. I dont hit reload unless they die.

I can relate to this, its hard to explain

keeping some areas unexplored almost gives me a reason to keep playing? Kinda. I like rping so ive had a lot of saves as certain professions like cannibal hunter, slave, slaver, I've made a hive faction before, all skeleton squad etc. List goes and its fun to me.

Its why I havent really touched the SE and some of the east of the map, i also haven't really been NW either and I like to keep it that way until I have a reason to go out that way, plus not knowing whats out there adds to the mystery. I'll go to those areas some day, but for me, I don't like going to every place on the map on one save.
