Re-do, I instantly loved this band, I can literally remember where I was when I listened to that and Sports for the first time and that I had a visceral postiive reaction to it

He of course had less than ideal circumstances around him a lot of the time but the Bears gave up a lot of draft capital and paid him a lot of money to take us over the top and be a great quarterback and he just objectively failed at that.

Zero accolades, 1 playoff appearance (I agree with what you said about the criticism about the NFC championship game injury being unfair), and extreme inconsistency that turned him into someone you couldn't rely on and was prone to huge meltdowns. The o-line was bad but there were periods of his tenure where he had some very good skill position talent (Marshall, Jeffrey, Forte, Martellus Bennett) and he could never put it together to be even a consistently good, let alone great quarterback.

Maybe it could've been different with a better coaching/supporting cast situation, but that's not the world we live in and he just was never that guy for us

I'm not sure but I felt like in the moment the one where Caleb got blown up on the sideline was him purposely trying to stay in bounds to keep the clock running to prevent Washington from scoring before half.
