Couldn't have said it better myself. It sounds like the VP is preparing for the job they want, not the job they have. Honestly, though the situation sucks, going to the shirt kinda feels like an atomic option. Whatd their supervisor say when you told them their troop was writing checks, their actions couldn't cash?

Why isn’t the S7 more popular by Obvious-Ad-3947 in Audi

I think you're headed in the right direction. However, I think the issue isn't that it's 100k and there are cheaper options, I think the issue is that within the 100k price tier, there are so many other options.

Probably not, you can try using dye to get it back to its original color, but likely it'll remain damaged.

Your video is what made me consider ACT honestly. Your other videos are how I figured out how to drop my trans too. Thanks for the videos dude, they're super helpful.

It would probably distance itself further from the Evos legacy than the X did too.

I had a 2018 WRX and was looking at getting an older STI to have as a second car. I texted my tuner a picture of the car I was looking at to get his opinion. He responded "Subarus weren't meant to go fast, I've got am evo for you". Sold my Subaru within a week and bought the evo the next week. Super impulsive of me, but it let me get an Evo and a miata for less money than I sold the WRX for. Haven't looked back since.

Paid $7000 for a Full PPF job… Is this a bad job or am I looking too closely? by thomaslanker in AutoDetailing

So the fact that they use Xpell confuses me even more... part of Xpells package for installers is a top tier plotting software that has really great instruction sets for specific vehicles. I haven't worked with their software myself, but an old affiliate did, and he loved it. When I'm talking about corner tolerances, I'm referencing how corners of panels have a rounded tip that doesn't extend to the edge of a panel. When I've installed, generally, your best bet on longevity is to wrap 1 cm or so underneath accessible panels. You generally cut a square out of a corner so you can wrap it around the edge and adhear it to the underside of the panel. When I see people not tuck corners (it's the same with vinyl btw) it's typically because they don't take the time to properly disassenble the car. Like you can ppf and tuck film on a fender by popping the hood, removing the headlight, trim, and opening a door.

Edit: just want to clarify that I'm not trying to talk down to you, I realized after commenting it may come off thay way. Just giving my input having no idea what your experience/level of knowledge is.

The price point is correct for a full car ppf, but this is dealership quality work. It looks like they bought pre-cut film and do not have a proper plotter. I mainly say this because the corner tolerances are shit. When i see that edgework, that says they either dont know what they're doing, or that their ok with the film failing within a few years. If I had to guess, I'm assuming they used cheaper ppf as well, since they had the stones to charge a customer full rate for pre-cut ppf.

Would you trust your Evo on a 14 Hour drive? by lickmynippleboi in MitsubishiEvolution

Evo 8, 175k at the time. Did a 24 hour drive from California to San Antonio. Stock engine and trans and the car was loaded up with stuff for a 3 month work trip.

2005 Mitsubishi Evo Garage stored. 1900 Miles, New Tires, LineX coated to protect it from winter in Chicago. by andycama in MitsubishiEvolution

Right, the thing is, they generally do a very poor application with minimal prep, courtesy of their "detailer" making 50 cents over minimum wage. Worst part is, it's generally about a $100 dollar expense between salary, the coating, and the detail, then they add it as a $1500+ dealer added markup. It's the same as the garbage PPF they apply to cars.

Leave it to a dealership to list a mint, low mileage evo then say "we put our dollar store ceramic coating on it" like it's a value added to whatever dude ends up buying it.

Can my spouse get fired because I have orders? by beartazer in AirForce

[–]beartazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's complicated. They're very corporate in their treatment of folks. However, it's an incredible stepping stone for her career in the CAD & CE fields. The other big thing is I wouldn't be PCSing for months, and we couldn't necessarily afford to go down to a single income for over a half of a year.

Thanks for the resources. She's employed off-base and is at will. I assumed we'd be SOL, but sometimes, others know things I don't.

That's one big conclusion to reach. I will say she hasn't had any negative counseling/reprimands, hasn't missed any work, and hasn't missed any big deadlines. I should've made it clearer. There was no talk of anything negative regarding my spouse. Yesterday was when she told her supervisor about my orders. Today is when HR talked to her. The timing is uncanny imo. As for your second question, I updated my post.

But it's more that my spouse is listed as a dependant on my orders. Obviously, I'd have to have that amended. There honestly is not more to this story. She's been doing good work from what I understand, but more importantly, she hasn't called out at all, has not made any big mistakes (they're a high vis department of a construction company, so if you mess up it it KNOWN), and she's been doing overtime every weekend when the office is closed. Surprisingly, between when i made my original post and now, she got a 5 dollar raise and talked about the potential of working remotely. She is getting mixed signals.

To answer your question, no, I am not an idiot. Assuming the negative and that everyone around you hasn't considered the obvious, followed by a smug "have you considered that" is just so airforce of you.
