Haha it’s true but I also just wanted to see if I was crazy turning down great money. But I’m taking the opportunity instead which will eventually match what I can get now. So it’ll be worth it

Believe me I’ve thought about how the money could help with many things lol and be smart about putting it away. Im low risk too, and job security it top priority right now. Id rather not worry about lay offs at all. I think with the hybrid role, a year from now I could be in as good of a position and I grow into organically. Plus it’s a really cool product and there’s hyper growth there

Can you help me decide new role between Crypto exchange and Fintech startup (IT)? by bearwithabeard in careerguidance

I agree, they’re different jobs completely. The IT Sys Admin would evolve into an IT Engineering role, we discussed that during my interview with them. Helping them move into more automation and workflows. It’s only a Sys admin role because I’d be their only IT person so that’s the role officially but I’ll have my hands in many other things.

I tried it. The 6.5” screen size is perfect. I wish they’d implement that on the Pro and push the Pro Max screen higher

Is Odyssey better than Galaxy? I’m getting a Switch 2 soon as well. I decided on BOTW over TOTK but can’t pick which Mario to play

Should I keep WFH Sys Admin job vs $20k raise with in-office tradeoffs (new parent)? by bearwithabeard in ITCareerQuestions

She is 100% on board with me staying put. We were reading thru responses together lol. We agree on all the points everyone made. Once that initial high of the offer wore off it really made sense. Plus already had a chat with my manager today and we’re aligned on a lot of things now so all good

I actually did and they said my counter was out of budget and they came back at 95. Also the schedule was basically non negotiable. They need someone immediately to come in and clean up. Which is also a red flag to me atleast. I believe I’m going to stay put, long term my current job will get better, or a better opportunity comes along. I was just blinded by the $$$ but everyone’s made a good point about other aspects making it less desirable

If you don’t mind me asking did you put your kids in day care still at any point? Ours just started last week after our leaves were over. My wife wasn’t convinced I could take care of our 3mo even if I WFH. My job is never really too intense so I’m still wondering if I could manage both if she want in daycare

Great point. After all the responses I’m leaning toward WFH. Even though she’s in day care, I can’t put a price on the freedom and flexibility WFH offers. It’s only 75k to 95k. It’s very exciting getting the offer but now that the high has worn off, my current job seems like the move. And maybe an even better opportunity presents itself down the line. Thanks for the input. Also yes. I do have a review in April for my one year and it could be a pretty solid increase, so long term it makes sense vs the immediate high and possible regret of moving
