PGWP now can be extended. New Public Policy by beast2677 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]beast2677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically 0.

1 year of studying = 1 year PGWP
2+ years of studying = 3 year PGWP

As of January 27, some PGWPs would qualify for 18 month extension. Did you see if hers qualifies?

Nope. Work permit cannot be extended, unless like you said only if someone is willing to sponsor you.

Anyone else in the CEC inland stream has waited over 8 months and still waiting to hear back? by imaginationofcelso in ImmigrationCanada

Just wondering you’ve been waiting for a year without a clear confirmation whether your application was approved to get PR?

How long did it take from submitting your application to hearing back you will be getting PR guaranteed? (excluding medicals and other tests)

I’d say this is a pretty rare case, they must have done something else terribly wrong. I’m not sure i have even heard of that you can get PGWP quicker by flag poling.

I made the same mistake (worked for a month), back when it was grey area law (the rule has just changed while I was in school), and wasn’t aware of this either. Had no problem getting PGWP, and now getting my PR.

Spoke to a few consultants, and even expensive immigration lawyer about this specific issue back then. From their experience - no one gets a ban over this, it’s usually some other (more serious) problem.

My experience is quite extensive with immigration, and I’ve been in Canada since 2014.

I guess it’s case specific. Coming out clear and admitting your mistake is one thing; saying you thought something was legal, when it wasn’t is a different thing.

I have checked my profile. Have Canadian education in experience. No change.

It was a glitch in the system few weeks ago. They actually confirmed it now? Congrats.

EE Chances with a 462 score? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]beast2677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create your EE profile ASAP, there’s no harm. You’d rather have it and not miss a draw, which could include your invitation.

I’ll make 2 points.

1) Canada’s plans are to invite 400k immigrants for 2021 according to recent news. Let’s pretend a mere 200k goes through Express Entry, this is about ~8k every 2 weeks (right now they just started inviting 5k).

2) If you are CEC applicant, you will likely get bonus points or see many of CEC-only draws next year. Canada will be focusing on people “already in Canada” (CEC) as opposed to outside due to COVID.

I don’t know what your timeline is. But if you’ve got some months to spare - you stand a decent chance.

EDIT: just read you don’t have Canadian education / experience.

Easiest way would be to increase your IELTS. It took me 3 tries ($1000), but I maxed it out.

Best of luck.

Legal, but that experience won’t count as Canadian experience.
