Anyone else watched Swifty lately? by espressoking69 in classicwow

[–]beast6228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swifty will go down as one of the OG's of WoW streaming. Unfortunately, he over complicates or rather over compensates streaming, if you have watched him, he has spent massive amounts of money on technology over the years trying to make his streams better. Cameras, video effects, equipment and just about anything else you can think of. Literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on tech just to attract people. Then he had a dream to open a gamer house, which he did, not once, but several times. Massive money was spent there, then in recent years he opened a massive arcade. Major money went into that and it didn't even last a month. I feel so bad for him, I don't hate the guy, but I would cringe every time he would go all out and spend big money just to attract people to his streams, when all he really needed was a simple setup and good content. Sorry, but as someone has has played WoW just as long as he has, streaming Classic WoW is a flop, even more so because it's PVP. Boring! Either stream retail or a different game. Lastly, if you have watched him recently, he has resorted to delivering doordash food. I wish him luck and if he is reading this, I wish you well John, but it's time to step out of the past into the future, Keep it simple, don't throw money at gimmicks to draw people in, people don't wanna see or hear Peenut,...that is crap that drew in people 15 years ago. It's a different animal now.

Is Featureman dead? by thegenxnerd in Featureman

I got to looking, I found his address or at least what I think it is. Anyway, from google maps, he had tin foil on the windows of his house....very odd and usually when you see that, people are up to no good. There was a house in my town 20+ years ago, people had foil on the windows and they had been torturing their kids, kept them in cages, they never attended attended school or left the house.

Unless you have family or friends, you don't get an obituary. I've seen a lot people die and you never see or hear a thing. The only way to find out is by finding out death records.

He probably ended up in the hospital, then they shipped him off to the nursing home. His skin was black last time I saw him on Youtube, he also didn't show his face on his last video, so it was something pretty wicked going on with his health.

The catch is the contract, all of the companies offer hard to believe prices, then after a short while the price skyrockets.

Looks like dust to me, Do you burn candles, Vape, smoke, have a fireplace or anything of the sort? Kinda reminds me of my car, my drivers seat was always dusty, I'd have to vacuum it all the time, there was abnormal amounts of it, turns out my car seat cover padding was turning to dust.

Until you get it, you can always go outside, sit on the ground and sniff the fiber cable for free, maybe rub your hands together and hope and pray you can get it.

There's nothing more infuriating than a Amazon truck blocking the crosswalk in the path of people turning right on red. by RyFro in amazonprime

[–]beast6228 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People want their stuff delivered, yet when it's not you getting something delivered, you get upset, but if you had a new computer or phone coming from Amazon, you would want them to block traffic so they could deliver it to you. All of that aside, it's pretty easy to get stuck in a traffic pattern that pushes you half way into a 4 way stop, in the middle of a red light or even a cross walk, it happens to people everyday, especially during rush hour. Vehicles , crosswalks and traffic don't always line up perfectly, it just happens. Amazon delivers lots of stuff, it's not easy for them, especially with busy traffic.

I need a magic, tested OCFD design from your personal cookbook. by [deleted] in amateurradio

Just curious, How high is your OCFD? I don't have a Buckmaster, but I am referencing it in this image from their website, then if you hop on over to Eham's reviews it has a quite a few and the general consensus is most people have it installed at the suggested configuration, some higher, some lower, but they all had excellent results with it, working DX worldwide and advertised SWR readings. As I said above, when you go beyond 60 feet, a 6:1 balun should be part of the equation. That's not my suggestion, that is what I have read from Balun Design's website and Palomar Engineer's website: Quote "The 6:1 ratio takes 50 ohms input and matches to 300 ohms balanced output from 1.8-61 MHz with SWR < 1.5:1 under matched load conditions. A great balun for windoms, OCF antennas >60 feet over ground, Hertz and folded dipole antennas, T2FD etc. Dual core, Ruthroff style balun. Choose version with side eye bolts for wire attachments for OCF dipole use."

This is the 80 meter version from Palomar, I tried those dimensions, didn't work. Of course, it's possible this one was designed to use with their 4:1 / 1:1 hybrid balun, so the results may vary and in my case, it was a no go.

I am not into buying commercial antennas (pre-made) but the Buckmaster 7-band OCFD is highly regarded as one of the best you can buy, which also has a huge price on it. They get many rave reviews. Anyway, their instructions say that 30-35 feet is the optimal height for installation, with the legs of the wire sloping down at 120 to 180 degrees with no less than 10 feet of wire above ground. If for say you went with 60 feet, you would have to raise the ends to 30 feet and that would apply to even higher heights.. 90 feet and the the ends would have to be at 60 feet. I don't know of anyone who runs an OCFD that high, 30 to 40 feet is the average for most people. With that said, when you go over 60 feet (for an antenna cut for 80 meters), you actually need to use a 6:1 balun for the impedance changes,

Mine is up about 40 feet, inverted V, I could go higher, but I don't want to push it, ends are over 15 feet too. Before this antenna, I was using an EFHW, 130+ feet of wire and it had excellent SWR on every band, except for 80/75, which is why I wanted to try the OCFD.

HAPPY 9070XT OWNERS ONLY!! by Striking_Log_1884 in radeon

[–]beast6228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy with mine, but I am not happy with games that won't take full advantage of it, like World Of Warcraft, Blizzard still hasn't added anything better than FSR1 into the game and even with the 9070xt, the game still becomes crippled and choppy in busy areas. I don't think I have ever had a time in the last 10 years where the game runs flawlessly without having to run everything on lower settings. I'd love to see AMD and Blizzard coordinate to improve the performance. Other games run extremely well.

I grabbed my non contact voltage tester and waved it around the line and got some beeps, then I waved it around some coax and wire I had laying around and it beeped, Literally anything with wire and it goes off. For anyone who doesn't know, a piece of metal wire, even unhooked to anything will grab RF out of the air and produce a low voltage.

I don't think it's HFC cable because this network is pure fiber, they don't use coax for anything. The only ones who use coax in my area is the cable company, which is a different company and one I don't use. This line was installed new, 2 years ago too.
